Going into the off-season I see the following playing out -

Keepers (Based on their age/contract and assuming we're not looking to trade them):
- LeBron
- Wade
- Bosh
- Haslem
- Miller
- Jones (?)
- Joel
- Chalmers
- Pittman

Retiring:
- Dampier
- Ilagauskas
- Howard

Not Sure:
- House (Maybe he wants more minutes. I think he has a player option)
- Bibby (Depends if he wants to stay or not and likely settle for the vet min)
- Magloire
* All 3 of these guys will be 34 heading into next season.

Don't Forget About Me!:
- Varnado (Europe)
- Beverley (Europe)

I could see perhaps 4-5 new players coming in either with the MLE (If it's still there) or under the vet-min.

Based on your list here's what I'd try...

Throw the full MLE at:
- Dalembert
- Nene
- DeAndre Jordan (He's young/up and coming so I expect him to get a bigger pay day than we can afford)

As far as the vet-min I'll have to think about it for a while. We're not getting any young player at that price. It'll have to be guys that are getting up there in age and are looking for a shot at contending. Either that, or a guy that was injured/personal problems and wants a chance at a come back (Michael Redd?).

IF WE CAN GET NENE I'll be probably as excited as I was when I first kissed a girl but that is a Pipe Dream loll and I really want a young PG out of that whole list I wouldn't mind having T.J Ford.

I can see A Miller signing with us for MLE if we can't secure a center for a year. He'd be good at the point for a year I suppose. I think Nene has a chance, he said he wants to retire after he plays in some world event (forget which) in 2014 so I think it's possible he'd want to sign here for a last run.

I wonder what the value of Joel is given all the hype he's been getting recently?

Out of the C's I mentioned Dalembert is the only realistic one IMO. Nene and Jordan are pipe dreams, but then again so was LeBron.

In terms of the vet-min I'd offer it to the following guys (Keep in mind the veteran part lol. I'm looking at older guys, specialists (Shooters, defenders, etc), and players that are coming off major injuries):

- Andre Miller: Will be 35 next season. I realize the vet-min likely isn't enough, but I don't think he would command the MLE - especially if he wants a chance at contending.

- Anthony Parker: Will be 36 next season. Former teammate of LeBron, can play some defense, and hit the 3.

- Earl Watson: 32 next season. I honestly don't know much about his game, but I remember several people here wanting to go after him last off-season.

- Earl Boykins: 36 next season. Homer pick on my part, every time I see him play he lights some team up.

- Mo Evans: 32 next season. He can play some defense I think?

- Marquis Daniels: 31 next season. Florida native. Can defend and slash. Coming off season-ending injury with the Celtics.

- Anthony Carter: LOL! 36 next season. Plays defense, veteran presence.

- Michael Redd: Will be 32, coming off major injury.

- Jason Kapono: Former Heat player, 3-point specialist (Shot like 50% from 3 one year with us). Will be 30 and didn't get much playing time in Philly.

- Troy Murphy:  Yeah right.

Tony Battie (35), Dan Gadzuric (33), Jeff Foster (34), Kurt Thomas (39, next season), Jason Collins (32), Francisco Elson (35), Etan Thomas (33), and Kwame Brown (29) are all guys I would consider as 2nd/3rd string C's/additional size.

So does Tyson Chandler jump at the biggest contract offered to him, or we he could consider taking the MLE for a sure thing at a title in 2012 + 2013.

The Heat would be unbeatable if they had Tyson Chandler at center... Jordan we have no chance at, and I strongly believe it will be Samuel Dalmbert that ends up in Miami. I also hope we replace Eddie House with Beverley and possibly Howard/Big Z with Varnado.

I wouldn't say no to Andre Miller for the vet min if he's ring chasing otherwise I'd rather have Brooks, Dragic or Stuckey for the MLE.

Obviously Center is our real need but there isn't much on offer.

Dalembert i guess
Ming/Oden if their teams don't follow up on them are too good to turn down
Krstic as a replacement for Z could be good
Fesenko is probably better than anyone we have already
Kwame Brown looked quite useful at the end of the year
Jeff foster doesn't take any **** and can rebound.

Nene's gonna want way more than the MLE unfortunately. But he should definitely be our top priority. Work your magic Pat.

No chance do we get Tyson or Nene, our best bet is to nab Dalembert.

My FA wish list in order of preference:

Nene
Chandler
Dalembert
Crawford
Yao
Oden

If Miller can get healthy, then we'll see his shot come back. JJ has done all that's asked of him. That gives us our 2 and 3. Haslem is our four. Crawford could realistically be our point off the bench. However, if either Nene or TC would take the MLE, then we'd have a lot less headaches. Joel coming off the bench would better serve his role on this team.

With their history of injuries, may Yao and Oden could be attained at bargain basement prices.

Even Dalembert will be difficult. Kings are apparently eager to resign him since Dalembert/Cousins played well together.

We should offer Yao and Oden only if Dalembert/Chandler/Nene are gone. Then if all of that fails, we could always try to trade for an "overpaid" center like Okafor or Haywood. Dunno how that'll work out though.

ODEN or BUST!!!!!!!!! high risk HIGH REWARD

$8.8 million is the qualifying offer for Oden.. Not going to work. Ming for vet min playing 10-15 minutes
might be interesting though.

Edit: Reggie Evans was a rebound machine this season. Avg 11+ rebounds a game. Can't score for **** but vet min guy would be cool

Man we could've been had Dalembert but The Kings decided to bind him til' the end of the season. I could've sworn we were gonna pick him up after the trade deadline.

In 2K11 I tried out several offseason simulations, and even though it is 2k11, here are my two cents:

1st time I got Barea (PG), Kwame Brown, I called up Patrick Beverley from Europe, re signed Bibby, and picked up Brandon Knight (SG/PG) and Carlos Cruz (SF) as 30th picks in round 1 and 2 of the draft. I doubt we will get a prospect this year.

Re-sign Chalmers, maybe Bibby, offer full MLE plus the money of the people that might retire (Z, Dampier, Juwan, Mags???) to Nene, Dalembert for centers, maybe Yao if we can get him for a bargain.

PG's, maybe Barea.

I see Prince fitting in here.

Kwame Brown is a good back up C.

Is there anyway we can get Da'Sean Butler back to develop him?

The new CBA may F us up, by 10 million dollars possible and no MLE.

I think next year scoring off the bench is going to be more vital than big men, IMO. Crawford, Chandler, Afflalo, J.R. Smith, and Prince are guys I would go after. Especially Smith, Afflalo, and Crawford because of their 3PT shooting.

You guys are forgetting something; if the CBA doesn't kill it that is.

The BAE, or LLE. Every other year we get access another exception that's about half the MLE. Andre Miller could work in that slot, with Dalembert at the MLE. Resign Chalmers and Jones, then fill out the roster.

Pg: Miller / Chalmers
Sg: Wade / Miller
Sf: James / Jones
Pf: Bosh / Haslem
Cc: Dalembert / Anthony

Sick team. I do have to admit though that I wouldn't be opposed to retaining Bibby if Miller doesn't come. Miller's lack of range bothers me...

Andre Miller would be a horrible fit for LBJ and Wade, plus he will be 36 next season. I want some young blood

DeAndre Jordan for MLE, Oden for vet minimum, and Jamal Crawford for vet min :D.
