So anyone know when Lebron is going to let Marion

Know that he isn't in the same universe as him.
It makes me sick to my stomach watching Shawn Marion confidently playing like he can do what he wants against Lebron.
I expect Lebron to let Marion know that he's irrelavent again, this isn't phoenix.

Marion said in an interview after the first game that "they play more of a freelance style" while miami plays a more structured style - I too wish Lebron would attack the rim more

I'll quote part of my own post from yesterday...
coolstorybro wrote:After 2 games - LeBron vs. Marion head-to-head:
LeBron: 22 ppg, 8.5 rpg, 4.5 apg. 31 FG attempts. 17 FG makes. 4-6 on FT's.
Marion: 18 ppg, 9 rpg, 3.5 apg. 26 FG attempts. 15 FG makes. 6-7 on FT's.
We all saw Marion when he played here. He's not this good. The LBJ-Marion match-up can't be so close.
I'm not buying this stuff about Marion being some out of this world defender. He's not. Luol Deng is a better defender than he is, and LeBron still destroyed him.
LeBron needs to show why he's an All NBA 1st Team Defensive player and shut this guy down, while scoring on him at will.
Also, get Mike Miller off of Marion. He has no chance whatsoever.

Carlisle is doing a good job letting the Heat not play their best line up. Miller is Mr. Potato head with multiple injuries and every time they take Miller to the post with Marion, which forces him out. Heat need him for rebounding, and when it's time to rebound it's only Soft Bosh, LeBron or Wade who should be the attackers. They have to do too much. Is it me or has Joel went back to being what he was? He blocks but other than that he's being useless. I liked him better off the bench. Big Z should start this series. Dirk would have to guard him and he should make some buckets.
But yeah Marion shouldn't even be close to LeBron's numbers and LeBron has to be aggressive. They are making it seem like Marion is stopping LeBron. No, LeBron is taking too much 3's than he should. He should keep them for crunch time.
Wade is 11/40 in the playoffs from 3. He should not even be taking 3's either.
They said they'll be more aggressive next game so we'll see. Though LeBron said he knows his game is in the paint and he didn't do anything in Game 2.

From Ira Winderman's Twitter:
Shawn Marion on playing against LeBron: "we talk **** to eachother."
Expect this to get personal, lol.

That probably frustrates LeBron on the floor. Sounds like a tactic.
Yeah I expect LeBron to take it to him next game lol.

“Do you feel that Shawn Marion has been effective guarding you? And if you feel that way, why so?”
“I don’t feel like it’s one guy in this league that can stop me one-on-one. There’s always a defense that’s looking at me when I have the ball.
“He’s the guy that’s guarding me, but there’s no one-on-one guy that can guard me.”
http://blogs.sun-sentinel.com/sports_ba ... ponse.htmlWhile I don't want to see LeBron hog the ball like he did at the end of Game 2, I think it'd be good for the team if he takes his matchup more personal. Marion is scoring and rebounding way too much, and MAYBE 'pissed-off LeBron' will do something about that.
I wish the media would let him and the whole team have it. I want them to make up more crap about pre-mature celebrations, how soft Bosh is, how our bigs don't rebound, shooters can't make open shots, etc. This team needs to be fired up to play a full 48 minutes, something they've had a lot of trouble with at times this season. No relaxing.

What is Marion supposed to do? Stand there and watch LeBron make a dunk or do his job and play basketball? According to the rules he is allowed to guard his opponent, and that's what he's doing .. Is everyone supposed to jump away and be scared when guarding LeBron? Or do their job? He's one of the few in the league who isn't scared about guarding him, give him the credit he deserves ..

this matchup has only been close because Lebron has seemingly found a false sense of security settling for jumpers, specifically 3 pointers. I expect that we are going to see a vastly different Lebron James on the road in this series.
Also I think we need to find ways to stop Marion from catching it on the move, he cant dribble, cant create offense at all for himself and cant really shoot without just throwing up a quick floater or layup around the rim. He only can be effective if he catches while the defense is out of position and everyone is in motion where he can just flip the ball at the rim and score.
the only part of this conversation that scares me is if Lebron hears more and more about what Marion is doing against him and he starts to try to move away from the offense and just punish Marion one on one. that might work at times but it cant become our only attack or our primary attack.
but yeah...Lebron is going to bring Matrix back down to Earth. bet that.

We had better see a vastly different Lebron - Plus your concern about Lebron punishing Marion and moving away from our offense is exactly what bothers me about him. So he punishes Marion, gets 40 points and hogs the ball on offense and no one gets into the game.
He keeps saying what "HE" needs to do, not what "THE TEAM' NEEDS TO do. You can run the shot clock down on any offensive possessions - players that have an open shot or a rebound should not have to always look for Lebron, it's predictable and annoying.

It's more like people are giving him more credit than he should be. The Dallas defense is all about help defense, and people are saying how it's Marion shutting him down. Luol Deng is a better defender than Marion. And there are times where Marion did just watch him dunk lol. If LeBron turns into a aggression mode I doubt Marion would stop him 1vs1. That's what it's about.
I give him credit for staying infront of him lol.
I feel like LeBron also isn't taking Marion seriously but now knows what the deal is. Game 3 is going to be different.

This. Marion was an afterthought til' this was brought to Bron's attention, he was wrong to underestimate him though.

Its really sad that we actually have to game plan for Marion rather than just neutralizing him with basic defense.
How is he such a good FT shooter with that stroke of his? His just flings the ball up there.

Yeah I don't even think they were thinking about him. But like Dirk said, he has turned back the clock all of a sudden. Now Heat have to worry about him more than they should.
And I have no idea. Timing and measuring it up pretty damn good I guess.
