Erik Spoelstra - the mind boggles

Post#1 » by WadeInTheWater » Fri Jun 10, 2011 4:16 am

The guy is a straight up dumbass! Bibby on JJ! Seriously how dumb is spo to get burned by Rick again? The guy has been riding the tail of Wade for too long and it is showing in these finals that he's inept. Guess what Bibby will still be on JJ game 6 and Joel Spoelstra will also start at center and yes i did say Joel Spoelstra because no REAL coach would start that waste of space.

You know, kudos to Rick Carlisle. That man is a real coach. He is MAKING ADJUSTMENTS.

Bibby doesn't even score any more 3's.

All year this was covered because the Heat were clutch, but they aren't anymore.

This is what happens when hero ball doesn't bail the coach out, he's exposed.

I don't understand taking Chalmers out when he was hot in the first half when he only ended up playing 23 minutes total.

I am exactly glad about all of this - everyone that needs to be exposed, is getting exposed, everything that needs to be exposed is getting exposed.

The thing that pisses me off the most about SPO,, when he calls a timeout and doesn't make a substitution. He does it prty much all the time
Stop being so disrespectful.

Why do we start undersized center starting who gets beat off the dribble by Dirk Nowitzki everytime? You would think that being seriously undersized, the very least he could do is stay in front of him, but even that is too much to ask. He is utterly useless.

I've had it with the bullsiht excuses.

"He can't handle this team" makes it sound as if he has a masterful plan that the team ain't executing. He has no plan. He has no answer. If anything, continuing to play Bibby should have convinced you it's not the players, IT'S HIM.

If Spo isn't going to take Bibby out of the game, then Bibby has to take one for the team and pull himself out.

Bibby on Barea? Are you out of your mind Spo?!

Why is LeBron jacking up ill-advised jumpers in crunch time?

Either Spoelstra told him to, or he has no control over this team. With this much talent (No brains, but talent) we shouldn't have such a hard time getting good looks.

Rick Carlisle should get some consideration for Finals MVP. His adjustments have been brilliant. He's completely exposed our team, players, and coach strategies.

Runs to close games:

Game 2: Dallas 22-5
Game 3: Dallas 14-9
Game 4: Dallas 21-9
Game 5: Dallas 17-4

Total to close games: 74-27.

And it was only game 5 where there was an intentional foul leading to free throws.

I'd like to think Riley wouldn't ignore this, but Spo is gonna be here next year short of Riley taking over himself. Riley wouldn't gift this roster to one of his adversaries like an Adelman or a Sloan.

At the very least, I hope Riley shakes his head in disgust over Spo's pathetic postgame comments.

Dallas' run in this game was mostly from the chucking and foul portion of things. We outscored them up until the final minute. Then we went into desperation. I actually thought we outplayed them until then. They got bailed out by the 3. PEACE.

All of Spo's fans are gone now...Hero ball was all because of him...But now, LeBron isn't hitting those fade away 3's to save our A##. Our offense has been terrible all season long, people talk about the HEAT and they talk Defense...Which is great but you have to consider who is on the TEAM. I'm glad we learned how to play defense but is that a valid reason to not know how to run a good SET? So I can't expect my team to play good D and good O? Its on or the other? How about making an adjustment? Rick saw the JJ need a spark and he put him in the starting lineup...He saw Kidd was better at defending LeBron and he did that...Spo on the other hand is doing the same thing he did against Philly. Same vanilla style, same robotic sub's, same cliche lines....His nothing more than a assistant. He knows alot more than me, that undeniable but that guy doesn't know more then the guy on the other bench. Spo like LeBron has shrunk in the finals. He has learned when to take a stand....Pat Riley "This is our season"..."One shirt, one tie"....Spo down 2-3 "This is where we wanted to be"..."Were going to come back and play better".....But hey, what do I know, I've only said the same thing all season..

Mike Bibby and Joel Anthony were what you thought they were.
Anthony did not have a rebound and Bibby did not have an assist.

Mario only played 23 minutes, really? OMFG HE WAS HOT FROM DOWN TOWN AND WANTED TO WIN

I know rebounding was important

but you know, Mario should get more looks in the 4th. He isn't afraid of those shots.

I have more confidence in him than I have in LeBron right now...........

June 15, 2011 - Phil Jackson is hired as Miami Heat HC.

Reaction from Erik Spoelstra - I wouldn't have it any other way

:D

Some eyes are opening now? No more Super Cool Beas to kick around

Spo has 2 games to redeem himself. While Pat Riley is ultimately only loyal to winning, I would still be shocked to see Spo axed if he fails to close the deal this year.

Even IF we lose there is no way Spo gets axed.

Riley likes to hire his guys (Van Gundy, Spo) not hire an outsider. We don't really have anyone internally (which is why Spo got the job) and there aren't really any others available (no way the other Van Gundy does his brother like that).

I'd like for us to hire kind of a offensive coordinator type assistant coach for next season (whether we win or lose). Kind of like Thibbs was for Boston on defense. Our offense while good overall has been wildly inconsistent for stretches despite all the talent. Maybe another coach focusing exclusively on offense can get us easier shots in the halfcourt.

Jack Armstrong, a Raptor analyst, former NCAA coach and a steadfast supporter of coaches, actually came out today and put this on Spo for his lack of creativity and adjustments. Very disappointing cuz this could have been over in 4 games as stated above.
What would Pop do?
