Anyone else not that devastated?
Well since we're all making threads and in rant mode, I though I'll ask this.
Despite me ranting about changes, I'm not really mad. I actually feel an odd sense of 'relief' if that makes sense. Kind of like, eh it's over but I expected it.
I think after that Game 4 loss I realized that this simply wasn't going to be our year. Game 5 further cemented that fact.
Does anyone else feel the same way...like you knew this wasn't going to be our year for a few days now?

Re: Anyone else not that devastated?
I wasn't that mad..It was kinda sad...I saw the writing on the wall all season. Spo has been the same for 3 years and I knew it would catchup. His late to adjust, filled with cliches, no balls and doesn't get the best out of his talent. Every year under Spo we've been good but good enough isn't enough. He was given the most talented offensive team in the NBA and turned them into a slow tempo defensive system type team. I understand D wins but what about the offense? Isn't the object of the game to score more than the opponent? This off-season people will say he need more talent and then next year we will talk about what else he needs. Every coach in the NBA wishes they had this talent and yet were going to make excuses to why he wasn't able to bring us a title. Its pretty sad that I wasn't even surprised.
Spo = Larry Coker. Nice guy, put in the time for his shot but doesn't get "IT". Hopefully Riley sees his issues and brings him an offensive coach to help support him or another coach all together.

I believed we could win, but I'm not devastated. Life goes on and they'll back next year. The best part of this team is that it's only the beginning for us. We got the core. Now time to get the role players.

Re: Anyone else not that devastated?
I felt worse about Game 2 honestly. After Game 4 I'm like, so these guys get it? Game 5, Mavs have figured the Heat out... and I expected them to lose and anything else would be a bonus.
Right now I don't feel mad. I also feel relieved. It was a weary season with all of this hate.
The players may not want to say this, but I think it also took a tole on them mentally.
Wade said this team reminded him of the 2005 team, and we all know what happened. We also know what happened the next year.
Let's hope they don't play zone. Seriously though, teams have found out this is the Heat's weakness. Granted they will change, but Wade and LBJ won't. Everyone saw the zone can stop LBJ...

Re: Anyone else not that devastated?
I am MAD.
Not that I didn't expect it .... I did. Since about December, I knew the Heat couldn't win a title with Spoelstra as coach.
I am mad because this was a wasted year of Lebron's, Wade's and Bosh's primes.
This was a GOLDEN opportunity. With a lockout looming, a possible hard cap in the new CBA, the MLE likely gone and who knows what else, this might have been the best chance this team had at a title.
And now ... WASTED.
It's not just 1 of 6 years .... because now they're still young. 5 years from now, who knows how they play ? And it's all wasted because of this gigantic moron who's smiling like a (Please Use More Appropriate Word) on the sideline while wasting these guys sacrifices and hard work.

This what worries bec. everybody is saying this is just the beg. and we have soo many years left...but, who know what is going to happen with the NBA lock out, and the new CBA..and also, we had it, but we blew it in game 2, if we had taken the 2-0 lead, dallas would have been done...THIS SUCKS!!!!

Re: Anyone else not that devastated?
I'm not devastated, I'm annoyed. This series was ours if not for two big let downs. It just hurts to know that we let a golden opportunity slip away. However, they do say that the better team always wins in a seven game series, and I really think that was the case here. Ultimately, they just outplayed us. Most of their pieces were at the end of the careers. If you think the urgency was high for us, imagine what it was for them. It was quite literally now or never. For us, we still have a long way to go.
A summer without the scrutiny of a championship team may do us wonders. We need to make the right moves and come back to win it next year. Anyone who says that the big three's legends have been tarnished will quickly change their tune if we do win next year, and I will always have the faith in Riley to make the right decisions.
Go HEAT.

Let's not forget Heat didn't win when Shaq came, but when they got the right pieces.
Though Pat took over... let's hope Spo learns more.

Re: Anyone else not that devastated?
Not at all, thought I'd be furious but I kinda expected it,I questioned how far we could get with his coach.
All I pray for is that Riley kicks Spo to the curb and signs a REAL coach, Spo would be ideal if this team a young team like Timberwolves or something but we need a seasoned GREAT OFFENSIVE coach in Adelman.

That game 5 loss hurt more than this one. Midway through the 3rd Q I just got the feeling this thing was over

I'm mad at Spo, disapointed with Lebron , and kinda of "happy" that we lost to the Mavs instead of Lakers or Boston etc ,,, Kidd, Dirk, Terry really deserved.

Re: Anyone else not that devastated?
not only am i not devestated but i don't have any bad emotions in fact i'm feeling pretty good because 1 i get a rest for a few month's from the stress of hoping miami wins every game we play and the heartbreak when we don't win and 2 i know we'll be back better next year and that prospect makes me smile (although ppl are saying next year we might not be able to keep our big three i find that stupid as those guys signed contracts that not the miami heat or the nba can break)
and sidenote stop throwing spo under the bus this guy is young as a coach and he has had it as hard as the rest of the team and ppl don't seem to get that all i want is for him to get his offense together and we'll be right as rain

We can only look forward, I'm glad we made it this far, past Boston and Chicago. I've tried not to think about it but next year I WILL be glued to the TV/computer screen watching our guys play ball all season, no different than this one.

Re: Anyone else not that devastated?
For comparison sake, I was far more devastated after the 99 first round to you know who, and ofcourse the 2005 Eastern Conference Finals loss to Detroit, than I was here.
This sucked, because we blatantly choked. But I know the shelf life of this team is atleast a strong 4 years. Plus, we've been on the other side. We have a banner up in the AAA. If we never had won before? Oh...I'd be sick.

Re: Anyone else not that devastated?
The sting was spread across the four losses, with the worst being games 2 and 4 when I first began grasping we might not win the title (even during the 5-game losing streak, I always believed we'd figure it out.) After losing the lead in game 4, I knew we'd have to basically outplay them 6 out of 7 games to win the series. Game 6 just felt like it was never our night from the start, and that allowed the disappointment to wash over me.

lol when I saw Dirk was 1-12 and they were up by 2, I just didn't know what to feel like. Hard to feel any doubt at that point.

I don't feel devastated at all and it's mainly because I knew we lost the series after game 4. I was CRUSHED on Thursday nights and pretty depressed in the following days but I'm fine now as I kind of saw it coming.

Not surprised, but still numb. LeBron had the gold ring in his sight. He brushed the gold ring with the tip of his finger, then, as if it were scalding hot, he pulled away from it. I don't know why anyone would look at what just transpired with anything but sheer horror and disgust. The most talented player in the history of the NBA, maybe one of the greatest athletes in any sport at any time, with something to prove and a legacy to validate just laid down and died like an old fox that just didn't have the stamina or the wits to outrace the hounds anymore. It was in many ways pitiful. Disturbing. But it seemed inevitable to some degree after the game 2 debacle.
