So the season has finally finished.
It was a great season for the Heat. We became the most relevant team any NBA team has ever been that hasn't won anything. We won the Eastern Conference and came up short in the Finals against a western team that we weren't created to beat - who really thought it'd be the Mavs in the finals. They hit the long 3's and they won.
2 wins in the Fianls of our first season together though is a great result.
Wade - I know I'm a homer but I think he showed why he's the greatest player on the planet this year. I wouldn't trade him for anything
Bron - had a great season and playoffs until the finals where the Mavs did a great job on him. I would n't trade him unless I could get Howard - we need a big - I would trade him for Howard and Nelson.
Bosh - Really enjoyed him this season, sure he had a few bad games but I loved his passion and skill, his honesty and hard work. He had to change a lot and he did. He needs a rebounding big man next to him but I hope he' stays Heat for life.
Miller - He wasn't healthy all season. I think he showed immense courage to play how he has in the Bulls and Mavs series. I look foward to him being healthy and I want him to stay.
UD - clearly not back to fitness yet but he came in and gave it his all. He is a good Backup PF - let's not overstate it, he's not a starter but he stays.
Rio - He's a bonehead, I like his fearless play and we had need of that but he makes stupid errors and ridiculous fouls and he can't guard fast PGs. Jet and Barea killed him just like Rondo and Cp3 did when he started early in the year. I hope this playoffs has boosted his trade value - it'd be great to package him away and pick up a good rebounding defensive Center. I don't mind him staying but he's just a backup.
Joel - It was a great first three rounds in the playoffs for Joel and I've loved his heart and workrate and the way he doesn't complain about anything. He's not a starting Center, he's an off the bench energy guy. Like Rio it would be great if his trade stock has risen and we can package him perhaps with chalmers to get the type of big man we need. If he's back as the third string Center great if he's not great too.
Bibby - I like him but he failed for us offensively in the playoffs and that's why we brought him here. Defensively I think he played way above expectations and tbh I preffered him to Chalmers apart from 2 games. He can come back as the backup PG (with Chalmers gone) as I think he's an ideal player to PG through the season's grind but he's not starter material at the elite level.
Eddie - he is what he is a 3 point shooter who gets hot and cold. Happily have him at the end of the bench next season.
JJ - again he's a limited player - 3 point specialist too slow on defense for us and not able to do much else than spot up and shoot. Happy to keep him OR eddie at the end of the bench.
Big Z - liked him during the season but he's clearly too slow and finished nice man , bye bye.
Damps - there was no other big out there, we tried he did a little bit but there's a reason no-one else wanted him. no need to return.
Magz - don't know why we kept him this season - from a playing pov. Goodbye and thanks for the memories.
Juwan - Think he was really great this season. He was the guy who fought and when he came on he was a small threat from where a big man needed to be a small threat. I could even keep him as a deep bench reserve (to be waived if necessary) next season.
Spo - I think he handled a difficult season incredibly well. He'll turn out to be a coaching great and though he'll get hate from the usual suspects (as will Bron , bosh and all the others) there is no way he should be fired. Sign him up for a decade.
It's clear Riley has a lot of work to do in the off-season as he and we always knew he'd have too. We are really a 3 and a half man team. We have no-one at PG or C and we definitely need a big rebounding defensive three who can run a little. We need a PG but can get by without one until the trade deadline.
Hopefully there'll be a little less hate next season , especially media generated hate. and hopefully we'll have less bandwagon fans next season. Though I'm sure we'll pick them up as we start winning.

Can't trust your analysis if you're not even willing to address his faults from the season/playoffs. I am an Erik supporter but you can't dress up the man's faults, he clearly had a role in this team's failings.
