A mere 13 hours after falling in the 2011 NBA Finals to the Dallas Mavericks, the Miami Heat have been installed as 2012 NBA championship favorites by online sports book Bodog.com.

The website Monday posted the Heat as 5-to-2 2012 championship favorites, with the Los Angeles Lakers second at more than twice the price, at 11-to-2.

The Mavericks are listed as 10-to-1 to repeat, the No. 5 overall choice, behind the Heat, Lakers, Chicago Bulls (6-to-1) and Oklahoma City Thunder (8-to-1).

No surprise there.

We were the favorites throughout the year from the people in the know (the big bettors and the books themselves).

Thats why I disagree with the people who are ok with the loss because we weren't "supposed to" win this year.

We were the favorites and we lost, this season was a failure.

Edit- Also I wouldn't take us at 5-2. Its too easy for something to go wrong for this team.

This news is no real consolation.I'm a bit unreasonable,I wanted the Heat to win it this year.

I allowed my emotions to get consumed by the high expectations this season.Won't do that again.As a matter of fact,I probably need to go watch film of the "early years" just to remind myself how far this franchise has come.
