He should... no rings and in the bottom part of his career... He wont get that much more and he will probably get a hefty buyout... well see..

My guess is that the Bulls would be a far more intriguing option for him, considering they really need him. His best case scenario here would be playing behind Wade, and that's only if MM gets bumped to backup LeBron. Which won't happen.

NO. He is old and slow. We don't need that coming off the bench. Not much healthier than MM either. And def cant shoot better than a healthy MM.

No more guys over 33
if you are over 33 then Heat shouldn't pick you up cause you just gonna be old and slow and slow down the Heat.
No more old guys!

I happened to watch him plenty of times last season. He has slowed a bit, but was very effective when he was healthy and rested. He still had some games that he actually took over. Plus, he is a very good post player.
He would do well in Miami, trust me. He is not done yet and would make a great 15-20mpg player.
Actually, if the Heat could trade Mike Miller while signing Vince, they could get out of Mikes contract while not losing talent.

We just had Juwan Howard on this team. Anyone else is better.
I'd take Vince because he can create his own shot.
Riley just said you don't win with young players. He's going to go after veterans.
Vince also picked the Heat to win despite all the hate, so who knows.

When Pho bought him out my immediate reaction was "he's going to Miami." He's from Florida and this makes the most sense for him at this point in his career. They could start Lebron at point and Carter at sf. Let Wade guard the opposing point, Carter guard the opposing sg, and Lebron guard the opposing sf.

We must have watched different players, then ...
I saw a guy who
had 19 (NINETEEN) games in which he played 15+ min and scored less than 10 points. That's while playing with Steve Freakin Nash, who can make a stiff like Mikki Moore look good. In 5 of those games he played 30-35 min.
Post-up ????
80% of his shots are jumpers (82games.com)
That's James Jones/Korver/Belinelli territory.
Only those guys are hitting their shots. Carter has a horrible FG%.
Right now, Thumbless Mike Miller is 10 times the player Vince Carter is. No Thumbs Miller averaged 4.5 reb/game this season. Vince Carter averaged 3. Did I mention Miller only played 20 min/game, while Carter played 28 min/game ? So
Carter played 50% more minutes, but Miller had 50% more rebounds.

vc would work in miami. just not as a starter
give him 12-15 minutes as a backup sf/sg.
the reason why people think vc was such a huge failure in orl and phoenix is that they expected vince carter circa 2005. hes older now but i saw a bunch of phoenix games last season and hes not done as a lot of people claim. he can still easily put up 16-18 points as a starter. he was willing AND played better when coming off the bench in phoenix which are good signs for a contending team that needs offense off the bench. chicago would be foolish to give him a contract and have him start. thats why i think he would be a perfect fit here in miami. we needed a wing scorer BADLY this season. not just someone who can shoot 3s but who can come in relief of wade/lebron and be the go to guy.
if you look at the free agents the top 3 veteran wings that can come here for the vet min are VC/t-mac and michael redd.
redd has had serious knee problems along with t-mac. carter has been injured as well but hes the least injury prone out of the 3.

Why not? At this point in his career it's the ideal situation for him. He already made his money, he'll have a chance at winning a ring, and he'll be in his home state.

Some of you seriously wouldn't welcome VC with open arms for the minimum? Come on. He'd solidify our bench in ways that no other vet minimum player can. Find me another player for the vet minimum who has the ability to create his own shot like VC can.
Hate him or love him he'd be a very good rotation player to have and he can step in and start should Wade or LeBron go down for a couple of games here and there.
