Parallels between 1977 finals and 2011 finals

Being a big fan of the blazers 1977 championship team I saw the parallels b/t these two series before it started. I didn't want to bring it up because as we all know now the heavily favored, star studded team lost in both cases.

1977 Julius is an incredibly similar player to 2011 Lebron. By far the most physically gifted player in the NBA, but flawed in many of the same areas as Lebron. You also have Doug Collins the face of the Sixers and a sensational 2 way 2 guard much like Wade. And then to complete the comparison you have George Mcginnis, an all star caliber 4/5.

In the blazers series the sixers handily defeated their opponent much like the Heat should have done, only to be steamrolled as the series went on by the momentum of a white superstar Walton and Dirk respectively.

What do you guys think?

I also wanted to mention, that Henry Bibby was the PG for the sixers and the team effect that we saw in both series. Team basketball in both cases beating star ball.

The parallels are amazing but the key is that both superstar teams were flawed and exposed in the finals. The thing I hate the most is that Doc and Lebron are my favorite players ever. Doc had a great series but Portland exposed him on defense with backdoor cuts as Bob Gross scored time and time again! Mcginnis had a horrible shooting series and like Lebron would not adjust and go down low! Collins and Bibby were inconsistent from outside!
