Should the Heat trade for Dwight Howard?

They can offer Bosh or Wade for him and if that doesn't work offer both. Makes sense?
Imagine LeBron and Dwight on the same team. Surround them with the right role players and stay healthy = title.

I would trade Bosh for Howard but Orlando isn't stupid. I'm a huge Bosh fan but Bosh/Miller/Chalmers for Hward sounds decent.
Howard
Haslem
LeBron
Wade
Bibby
WOW

I'd trade one of them for Dwight.

It's intriguing from Orlando's point of view. Let's say you guys offer us Bosh and Wade for Dwight and Jameer Nelson. Meanwhile, the Lakers offer us Bynum and Odom for Dwight and Ryan Anderson. I know we're in the same division, but I have no clue how we could say no to the Heat's offer.
That would leave you guys with:
Jameer/Chalmers/Bibby
Miller/FA
LeBron/Jones
Haslem/Howard
Dwight/Anthony
It's a bit more balanced than what you have now.
And it would leave us with:
Arenas/Duhon
Wade/Redick
Hedo/Q-Rich
Bosh/Anderson
FA
Not too shabby if we could get a decent center.
Like someone already said, it's probably not going to happen. It's definitely an interesting thought, though.

I think you would trade any of the big 3 for Dwight if you are looking at it as a pure basketball standpoint. Bosh is obviously the best choice for the Heat, and then Wade in terms of basketball talent and age (LeBron is better, younger). However I highly doubt Wade would ever get traded.
LeBron is the best player in the NBA, but Howard makes the Heat better. Bosh + Howard is easily the best PF/C combo in the league.
But I think PG, Wade, SF, Bosh, Howard is better than replacing LeBron with Howard. Basically Howard being one of the big 3 is better than the combination right now, no matter what player is traded for him.
That said, not gonna happen.

Like we'd give up two of them

Don't be ridiculous.

See how easy that was?
In all seriousness, I'm not sure it's as out of the question as you seem to think it is. Bosh is on a bad contract and Wade isn't getting any younger. You solve two of your biggest problems (PG and C) and you form a combo that would have the potential to be as deadly as Shaq and Kobe were. Meanwhile, the Magic get a pretty damn good consolation prize in the form of a superstar and a perennial all-star.
I don't know, man. I think it would be good for both teams.
Not trying to troll or anything. It's just my opinion.

Right, the proposed trade in the OP would never happen, and yours is much, much worse. I don't think you'll have a single person on this site who would agree to that trade (besides magic fans). Besides this is our board, we can say all the stupid **** we want.
Edit: And what leverage do you have that you can expect that out of a trade from us? There's a real chance Dwight can leave and the magic would have nothing. The Heat were two wins away from the Championship, not exactly similar to Orlando with their bad contracts and seemingly no hope in sight. Sorry if this post seems aggressive, but w/e.

I wouldn't trade away 2 of our Big 3. It's too much in my opinion. We were fairly close to winning it all this season. I'd give this core at least another year.
However, I would trade any one of them straight up for Dwight at this moment.
Unfortunately it's a pipe dream IMO. If the Magic do trade Dwight I doubt they trade him within the division. Then you have the comments made by SVG + Otis Smith about Bosh and LeBron. Plus there's the whole 'loyalty' factor when it comes to our Big 3.

Your post isn't aggressive at all. Most Magic fans would agree with all of your points. I don't expect anything like this to happen, but it's fun to talk about.
Peace out and good luck next year.

No thanks. I'd rather keep Wade/James/Bosh

No thanks, we don't need Dwight besides the guy has taken a few shots on our franchise/players. Hope he remains an Orlando loser for his career.

I WOULD NEVER EVER TRADE DWYANE WADE he is gonna retire in Miami and get a statue right infront of AA arena and Orlando really has no leverage they probably gonna end up losing Dwight Howard for nothing I wouldn't trade Chris Bosh I would just find him a center who can cover up his misdoing.
Having LeBron and Dwight on the floor in crunch time will give me such a big heart attack considering how poor FT shooters they are I much rather have Bosh out there because he will knock the free throws down.

Not going to happen so theres no point even discussing, at least with Lebron there was a POSSIBILITY since he was a free agent. This would involve Riley actually trading one of his big 3 which I don't see happening especially since Heat were two wins away from the title neither do i see Orlando trading with their rivals to make them better while they stay mediocre for then next few years +.

This is actually a huge point for me. Those three guys went through all the garbage together last season and they deserve to win it all together. We were two meltdowns away from winning a title, add a couple of decent players to this core and we'll be more than good to go for years. There's no reason to blow it all up now. I hate the offseason.

This team was very close last year and there is certainly no need to blow it up, but I don't think one can/should automatically reject any kind of deal that would bring in Dwight Howard to team him with Wade or LeBron or maybe even both. Dwight is a beast on the board and on D and improved a lot offensively last year.
People say it will never happen and it probably won't, but all it really takes is for Dwight to pull a Carmelo and tell the Magic he wants to go to Miami and for Miami to offer something that is better than losing Dwight for nothing. Unless there is some kind of meaningful franchise player tag in the next CBA, Orlando can't turn down an All-star to then lose Dwight for nothing. Yes, even if that means trading him in the division to the hated Heat. If Dwight leaves Orlando as a FA, they will still have about $60 million in contracts once they fill out their roster and that will put them right at or maybe even over the salary cap. They'd have no flexibility to improve that roster and would be saddled with albatross contracts for Arenas and Turkoglu. That would be a very bad team. Bosh would easily be there best player and getting someone via trade for Dwight might be their only way to add anyone of consequence. If Dwight were to strong arm them, they would have to very seriously consider doing it. Would Dwight strong arm them like that? I don't know. Although there has been some teasing back and forth, it is my understanding that Dwayne and LeBron both have good relationships with Dwight. That said, I tend to believe the reports that Dwight might be angling for the Lakers.
For Miami, the best deal obviously would center around Bosh

Bosh + Miller for Dwight. The only way I'd let go of Bosh. But this is fantasyland stuff. PEACE.

Why won't Orlando do that? Unless Lakers offer better? If Dwight will for sure than they would take Bosh/Miller/Chalmers or who ever, or take lakers offers. So don't say Orlando wouldn't do it. All matters whos offers better and if Dwight will leave. Better than nothing.
