Nene wants a championship.. not the money?

Nene is leaving open the possibility of re-signing with the Nuggets, but recently suggested one of the reasons why he opted out was for a better chance at a championship.
"After nine years, I have goals and I'm a team player," said Nene. "I'm very competitive. I want to accomplish everything. It's a big opportunity, and it's the only one in my life to be a top free agent. So I want to enjoy this moment. If people think it's about money, they're wrong. I've saved my money. I could retire today. I don't need to prove points. I like it a lot here."
Nene is uninterested in playing overseas during the lockout. He has been staying in Denver with his family and playing pick-up soccer to stay fit.
"I'll do my cardio here, see my baby," he said. "I saved my money. I don't want to go to Europe. I want to enjoy my offseason. It's a magical time (with the baby)."

This would be a amazing if he ended up coming here for MLE (if it existed). We'd be almost unstoppable!
Hope it happens

We could potentially be stacked at center if we get Nene, and if Curry Pans out.

In agreeing with everyone above me by saying that Miami would be unbelievably stacked with Nene at the center spot, how am I supposed to believe that he's not just trying to raise his own price? I don't see him coming here, but anything's possible. Major pipe dream, though. Good find. It's worth reading.

He turned down a $12.5M per offer from the Nuggets and expressed his disappointment with Denver's FO for not valuing him enough during the extension talks.
It is just downright ridiculous to think he'll even consider signing for the MLE.

That'd be unreal, hes always expressed his interest to play for Miami before we even got the big 3.

Fantastic news for Miami! Probably won't happen, but it'll give us something to stew on for a while haha.

I think that basically means that small differences in money won't change his decision. However going from an offered $12.5m to the MLE is just too big of a difference IMO. I'd be surprised (and hella excited obviously) if he signed here.

NenĂª is a smart guy. He saves his money. He won't waste it away like these other clowns in the NBA.
The big plus for Miami? Title contender, no state income taxes and let's face it, Miami can feel like Brazil sometimes...that would be sweet!

How so? Just because a quality player decided to join our team? Isn't that what other contenders do as well?

Dallas is NOT Miami as far as location resembling Brazil.
Nene in Miami is not impossible.
