http://espn.go.com/nba/truehoop/miamihe ... ar-classicMiami Heat fans won't have to wait until the NBA's owners and players settle their differences to get their next glimpse of the Big Three.
LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh will come together next week to host and play in "The South Florida All-Star Classic," according to sources close to the project.
The game will be held on Oct. 8 at 7 p.m. ET at Florida International University, where Hall of Famer Isiah Thomas is coach. All proceeds will go toward a charity supporting the educational community of South Florida.
A number of NBA players are slated to join the Miami trio on the court, including fellow Heat teammate Mario Chalmers, the Oklahoma City Thunder's Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook, the New York Knicks' Carmelo Anthony, Amare Stoudemire, the New Orleans Hornets' Chris Paul, the Washington Wizards' John Wall, the Atlanta Hawks' Jamal Crawford and Joe Johnson, the Houston Rockets' Jonny Flynn, the Los Angeles Clippers' Eric Bledsoe, the Dallas Mavericks' Caron Butler, the Memphis Grizzlies' Rudy Gay, the Boston Celtics' Rajon Rondo, the Philadelphia 76ers' Lou Williams, the Golden State Warriors' Dorell Wright, and the Portland Trail Blazers' Wesley Matthews and free agent Eddy Curry.
Cleveland Cavaliers first-round picks Kyrie Irving and Tristan Thompson also are possible participants in the game.
Should be cool to have all these guys on campus. Wonder how we can buy tix.

Damn, if all those guys show up that's one hell of a game. Practically an All-Star game, beats anything else we've seen this summer.

FIU officials said proceeds will go toward Mary’s Court Foundation, a charity established in honor of Thomas’ late mother, Mary Thomas.
“I said yes and before you know it, more people wanted to play,” Thomas said. “When LeBron and Wade and those guys get together on something, it goes to show you how quickly it can come together.”
Thomas said he was “overwhelmed” that the game will benefit the charity bearing his mother’s name, an idea he said the players involved in organizing the event came up with on their own.
“When they said that to me, I cried,” Thomas said. “My mom was the NBA mom. Not only did she look out for other moms in the NBA, she tried to help all people. The fact that these guys appreciate things she did, hell, I didn’t even know they knew.”

During the last lockout a lot of Heat players used to go to FIU for pickup games.

This is bull****. The tickets went on sale this afternoon and sold out right away but I had a 3 hour mid-term at the time and had no way of standing in line to purchase them.

If it's streamed I'll watch it online. If not, see if you can get some pics of Eddy Curry. He's supposed to be there (Hope he plays). I wonder what sort of shape he's in.
