Dalembert: "Joining the Heat would be fantastic."

"I'm keeping all my options open, but Miami could be a good fit for me," Dalembert said.

Why is that?

"If you look at the playoffs with Dallas, you saw what Tyson Chandler did," Dalembert said, referring to the 7-foot-1 center who helped the Mavs beat the Heat in six games for the title last June. "He was basically a key ingredient for them to win a championship. And Miami didn't have somebody like that. Somebody able to stop (foes from) getting second shots and somebody able to rebound and finish. I could fill that role and be an asset for that team."

"All the Haitian people I talk to say, ‘You have to come to Miami,"' Dalembert said.

Dalembert said he's left 20 to 30 tickets for games he's played in Miami. Among relatives, he says he knows about 50 in the city, and the number is even greater when considering children of relatives he hasn't met.

I wouldn't mind having him since he defends, rebounds and blocks but my dream player to get this off season is Tyson Chandler

and I read that Dalembert has bad work ethic and is a bad locker room guy so hopefully if he does sign with Miami Riley and the big 3 set him straight

I wouldn't be so sure about it. Riley is not a soft-ass and will not be pushed into free tickets just so Dalembert will sign here. He'll convince him either way though.

Players that express an early indication that they want to be here, usually don't end up here. Riley wants to chase, not be chased.

I haven't watched 1 game since the end of the season, but it's hard for me to think that IF we had Sam here last year, we would have won. I refuse to get excited about any new player(s) being added to this team.

After UD and Miller taking pay cuts to sign here and now we're just casting them aside just to get the next big signing, has gotten old. I will approach this season like a business, more than as a fan. We've gotten consumed by the deal, each year we want the big signing without addressing any other issue.

GO HEAT anyway, I'll pay my bucks for LP and watch, but won't record this year.

I like that he knows his role... getting rebounds and finishing. It was something Bosh couldn't do at that time against Chandler. We lost the rebounding battle... it's still in my head, Game 6, when Mavs would get all those offensive rebounds and we only had 1 guy to help try and get the rebs, Bosh.

Really need another guy and Dalembert is fine to me.

Chandler hates the Heat and is expensive as hell. Mavs are going to do anything to keep him.

I meant to say ANY HEAT GAME FROM LAST YEAR - I have been watching a lot of the "classics" on NBA TV - last saw - Houston/Pheonix with sir charles, hakeem, etc.

you really think we're not trying to address any of our other issues? last season the complaints were that we didn't have a PG and C. we traded into the 1st round to pick up a speedy defensive PG with some good potential and the "next big signing" would be for a quality center, both aspects that the Mavs took big time advantage of in defeating us. With as tight as things are gonna be, especially with this new CBA, maybe paying Miller 7-8 million 4 seasons from now is not the best look. I'm definitely with you on Haslem, but there is NO way Pat Riley is not making moves in the best interest of a championship team. To call his moves from here on out to be in the name of hype or big names is silly. And if that's the case shouldn't you be more upset at the organization for taking up almost all the cap space on 3 stars?

Not trying to be confrontational, just don't see how right now our direction or moral fiber or whatever is any worse than it was when we first got the big 3. GOHEAT

Sammy would be a beast for us. I would feel fine at center with Anthony as strictly a backup.

I mean I get why people want to knock him and say he's not that good, but they don't realize, telling that to Heat fans is like telling a starving man "This cracker really isn't that tasty"... you don't care, you're starving! They really don't understand just how awful Joel Anthony was.

And I'm saying this still holding some good will for him because he was useful in the first 2 rounds of the playoffs. That said, that's because Philly and Boston didn't have centers (lol JO).

And UD played great against Chicago, but it wasn't enough against Dallas, where Bosh was getting bullied by Chandler on the boards and we needed a center down there, instead of UD on the perimeter guarding Dirk. I'd rather have taken my chances with Bosh on Dirk to improve our rebounding with Dalembert on the game, and at worst, be forced to play Haslem over Bosh at times, than sacrifice rebounding. Hell, it was rebounding that won the Chicago series, and that's because we were able to keep Bosh on Boozer and play UD down low against Noah.

Who is saying he is not "That Good", and what is that good they talking about? He is worth the money we are able to spend on him. He is a legit starting center, a very good role player. Adding Dalembert should make us the best rebounding team in the league. Going from Joel Anthony to Samuel Dalembert is" THAT GOOD"? Yes it Is!! lol

Not to mention, we were playing 4 on 5 on offensive every second Joel was on the court. 3 on 5 when Bibby and Joel were in.

I'm not expecting Dalembert to have the footwork of Hakeem and power of Shaq, but I'm fairly confident that you can't just leave him wide open near the rim.

Let's say we're playing the Bulls. They put Noah on Bosh, and Boozer who is a joke of a defender gets off easy by having to "defend" Joel. If we get Dalembert, he may be able to do some damage. He can open up so many things for us - rebounding, fast break outlet, etc etc.

My gut tells me we won't sign him, Riley uses guys that openly expresses there desire to be here as pawns to get other players - OR - as fall back solutions only after he can't get who he really wants.

I hope we can sign him, but I personally think it is a long shot, would be happy to be wrong.
