Maybe it is just me but... Heat need new broadcasters.

It s like an unspoken fact around the league how boring the heat announcers are.

Eric and tony are just too..... I dunno... oldschool?

most NBA bloggers / fans / etc talk about how bad they are and that is the reason they can't watch a full heat game and really I can't blame them.. these guys are to old school and extremely monotone for such a exciting up and down the floor team.

Curious to see if i'm the only heat fan who thinks this..

Eric: YES YOU'RE THE ONLY ONE! :P He's great.

Tony: I agree with you on that one. Nice guy and all, but there's something about his style that's just bland.

Not sure how old you are or how long you've been a Heat fan, but there weren't many team broadcasters as good as Eric and Jack Ramsey. Those 2 were a great pair and fun listen to.

Talking about replacing Eric Reid is almost as blasphemous as talking about trading Udonis.

The Heat should hire Ian Eagle and Mike Fratello.

Eric Reid is one of the best play-by-play guys in the business, local or national. I wouldn't trade him for Marv Albert...realtalk.

Tony, OTOH...love the guy, but I can't be the only person not inspired by his color, nor pleased by the fact that a NYer calls our games. Something about hearing a NY accent on a Miami broadcast grates on my nerves. I think it's got to do with the fact that there are so many NYers down here, and they make our lives hell at games. PEACE.

E-Reid is one of my favorites. Tony... he is a little slow sometimes and says lots of corny stuff.

I can't agree with you on this one my man. Losing Eric Reid would be as bad as losing UD.

I have never liked Tony personally, growing up with Dr. Jack, far prefer him. That said, I've gotten used to him over the years, and most NBA color analysts suck, so we're not alone at least.

But its blasphemy to say anything bad about the great Eric Reid, don't you dare.

I've got bad news for you my friend, Eric is also a NYer, and a Jets fan to boot.

That said, I know what you mean, the accent is extremely off-putting.

I'll have to agree with everyone that said don't mess with Eric. In my opinion he's the best team broadcaster in the league. As for Tony, I know a lot of people hate him, but I don't know, I've come to like his corniness lol. The broadcasts also wouldn't be the same without him (although it'd be very easy to get over him leaving as opposed to Eric)

I spoke to someone who was a neutral fan, and they watched a Heat game on Sun Sports. He told me how the announcers were corny, and they kiss up to Wade so much, something like that. Though at times they just speak whats on every die hard Heat fans mind (and huge Wade fan).

There have been times where they over exaggerate things, but I don't thing it's necessary to change them.

I'd like the guy who says BANG! on ABC though... he would have been epic so many times through out the season if he was a Heat broadcaster lol.

When Tony does those segments outside of the Heat's locker room, it's blatantly obvious that he's reading off a teleprompter. In person, great guy, he's been with us forever, but I think it would be nice to get some real talents next to Eric Reid, who I think is great.

I miss Dr. Jack. :(

Yea Tony is pretty hard to take. I do enjoy laughing at him from time to time but I think we need a superstar next to E-Reid. I actually watched the Heat Classics from this week against the Bulls in '97. Man were we spoiled with having Dr. Jack and Reid. Jack was the man and his calls were incredible. We need someone like that instead of Fiorentino.

These commentators are one of the most neutral guys in the league, you tune into 23 of the other 29 teams and it's basically like you're watching fans comment on the game with their blatant bias.In fact at times I wish Eric and Tony were slightly more biased at times.

Tony is corny and can be replaced but Eric Reid is great IMO.

Lol i agree, have watched some games with the Celtics commentators and they are so biased it´s not even funny, even making me angry from times to times. The Lakers are pretty unbiased and call it pretty straight if im not mistaken.

From the Heats commentators i think they are fine, i just lack some fire from the sometimes. I watch alot of Fotball here in Europe, and some commentators with alot of fire in them makes the games alot more fun to me.

Eric Reid is exactly the type of broadcaster Miami needs, very informative and precise - Regarding the NY comment - I can't stand the NY fans in Miami..BUT my aunt lives, worked, educated, pays taxes and retired in NY (over 60 years) - so not all NY people are arrogant, obnoxious, cocky (other adjectives)

BUT "Sid" IS - sometimes you have to be

I hate how often Eric Reid would say something like "James Jones with his 38th three-pointer of the year!" I'll give it three games before he says "Joel Anthony with his 5th block of the season!"
