Cut Eddie House then, we have too many shooting guards.

Especially since he had knee surgery and will be out few weeks-couple of months. Or they can just cut him if they feel like someone better comes along. Till then, no harm in letting him stay put.

thats what I was thinking, plus we resigned Jones so we do have way too many shooters. Do we still have House? I forgot all about him

Another guy who was almost useless to us in the playoffs.
5.4 million this season to this injury plagued player. He couldn't even hit his wide open 3's.
5.4 mil. Sigh.

This is the best move. Mike busted his tucchus to make a contribution last season against struggles on and off the court. I'd like to see if he can bring what most of us though with a healthy pair of thumbs. Bank the amnesty for now.
Really (and most importantly), it's just the shooting. The rebounding, playmaking and hustle were there.

We don't need his playmaking (not that he did much of that last year) and who cares if you hustle if you still can't defend (he was horrible on defense).
Second year in a row that Miller's contract will prevent us from adding depth to this team.

I'll honestly be surprised if he's actually useful this year. That one appearance during the ECF against the Bulls was great and all but, that's about all we got. Hopefully he shows up...a lot more.

This is truth, but there is nothing else out there to sign

I think it's the smart move. Give Mike one more year to see if he can do anything. If he doesn't we amnesty him in the summer or trade him to cut some salary. No biggie. Getting Battier really took the pressure off whether Miller is going to bring it this year or not. Resigning James Jones made it double so. We won't miss him when he's gone, but hopefully when he does come back, he adds something.

Ira said an agent told him Mike would be amnestied next year, not this year. They are probably giving him one more shot.
I hope as well he shows up more. I mean last season it was because of his hands, his hands should be fine now. it's just the hernia.
He is actually an okay defender but he would get eaten alive even by people like Marion. I think it's just his frame, he isn't that tough. He's tall but not built like a rock.
He can be a good rebounder when he wants to. I remember he would always get that last rebound for the Heat to try again when they were having their 4th quarter woes. I liked his hustling... but this season we might see more shooting from him (which is not bad) than more hustle because of the hernia lol.

I would actually be surprised if he has another year like last year.
I think Miami cutting ties would of been a horrible idea. Make no mistake Mike Miller still has something to contribute.

Im glad we kept Mike, i think many of you under estimate what he can do in the first place. And many under estimate what he did for us last year. WE DO NEED HIS BALL HANDLING AND REBOUNDING. We need a scorer to come off the bench. Mike Miller is not just a spot up shooter but a very good scorer. Battier is not a scorer, just a spot up shooter. Get Well Mike, now that we have Battier to make of some of Mike lost, he can take his time and heal fully.

We don't need a scorer. We have too many scorers as it is. Spoelstra is too dumb to even make Wade/LBJ/Bosh into an impressive scoring machine as it is.
What we need is someone who is a spot up shooter and can make the open shots, and someone who can play defense very well, AND WHO IS NOT INJURED EVERY OTHER MONTH!

This. Aside of all his injures, remember how he also had to worry about his daughter. No matter how professional you're attempting to be, this is heavy stuff which will always take some of your focus, even during games. Honestly, using the amnesty on Miller this season wouldn't really help us. Sure, we'd have the full MLE instead of the mini MLE and the bi-annual exception, but who are we going to sign? All the decent centers are getting overpaid and wouldn't even come here for the MLE.
Thus, giving him another year to prove himself is the right move. Besides, I know this is not the UN, but you still gotta show some humanity to a guy who's had a really rough year if it's possible and in his case, it is.

WE DO NEED A SCORER OFF THE BENCH. We had plenty of spot stand still spot up shooting guys, and we have plenty of swing position defending. If we do not need a scorer off the bench please tell people stop asking for Crawford.

If Miller went to another contender there would be a torching in the playoffs when they face us. But it would be Wade or Lebron torching Miller because he would have to cover one of them.
Imagine Wade being covered by Miller instead of Bogans or Brewer
