Let's face it, the big men depth on our roster right now is not good, to put it mildly. Joel Anthony is looking at 30 minutes a night right now, Pittman looks ready for the D-League, and both he and Curry appear to be at least 20-30 pounds away from a respectable playing weight.

Besides Bosh or Haslem spending time there, I think Juwan Howard is probably our best backup center option available on the roster as of this moment.

That being said, here's what's still available on the scrap heaps.

So yeah, that's pretty much what's left and possibly in our price range. Any interest in any of these guys? Stick with what we've got and hope for a breakthrough from Curry/Pittman? Or hope someone else shakes loose via trade/buyout?

I'd be fine with Elson for the minimum. If I remember correctly, he has a solid midrange jumper and decent size and thus could somewhat replace Z in the lineup, even though he doesn't have his kind range.

no it isnt, we have enough versatility to be able to play around joel and curry and pitt.

On a more serious note, all of these guys seem horrible going by their statistics. I know who they are, but haven't followed them closely to make proper judgement.

Elson, Fesenko, Armstrong. In that order based on the limited info I have on them.

I don't think the Heat are that desperate.

Pat wouldn't just sign any rookie or a guy that is a garbage Center on a bad team...

Apparently he got hurt, after Spo was waiting to use him in the playoffs lmao.

Everyone just got hurt last season... even JJ apparently, which added to UD and Miller's injuries. Just random foot injuries.

Damp didn't get hurt, he had a bad attitude. Many tweets during the playoffs about Damp active in warmups and shootaround, but not playing. He got on Spo's **** IMO. PEACE.

Fesenko would be the best for you guys... lane clogger, rebounds, young, very good size, and not a plodder. If you've seen enough of Utah, he's actually not bad.

Elson played pretty well with the Spurs in 07 and 08, before he was dealt, for whatever reason. Played a pretty significant role as a different-look center. He's older now, but it's not like he's going to lose a lot of his game with having a limited role.

i dunno about center but Keith Bogans got released.. he is a good defensive minded option at SG a player that plays with his head. Started 82 games for the Bulls last year I think they might have gotten worse defensively by releasing him. If we need a backup two I would take a shot at him. He shoots .380 from 3.

^^^ I've always liked Bogans as a defensive-minded two who knows his role on offense, and is a pretty reliable shooter... just can't have him as a starter because he's just too limited offensively (obviously wouldn't be on the Heat), which he wouldn't be with your team, he'd be a third wing and for depth/situational minutes.

He'd be a solid addition to the bench for you guys

I realize that the highlights make him look better than he is, but he can catch and he dunk. He can also get up and down the court. That's all I'm asking for.

how do people like him even get on contending teams. I didn't even know he was on Dallas in 2006, besides Lakers in 09 and '10.

LMBO this is a dumb. Im not highly optimistic about our center position but im not near that dam disappointed to look at any of the garbage centers you mentioned. We just had a few days of training camp, now dont let Coles looking good make u rush to judgement on Curry and Pittman. We have ways to go, to make a clear judgement on Curry and Pittman. So we are going to roll with these guys until an oppurtunity for a legit starting center presents itself. So take a chill pill please.
