I found it intriguing that Norris has his own Heat reaction section,it's usually always big 3 and then bench.

Before opening this thread, I thought for a minute you'd become like NY fans and thought our rookie was a superstar

Happy someone besides the big 3 is getting attention and like the grade for the magic

I mean they didn't even put the bench at all, or Haslem who put up like 11 and 9, wasn't expecting it lol.

While many on here want to temper the enthusiasm over Cole, because "he's a 28th pick, and this is just preseason," the writing is on the wall that this kid is a gem. His control and vision, at speed, is something that jumps off the screen and cannot be faked. He just needs to work on his shot selection, chemistry with the team and finishing around the rim. On defense and in everything else, he's already game-ready.

You can see how writers changed their opinions midstream on Twitter. It started during the red&black game, and even a pessimist like Ira had to mark-out a couple times at what this kid can do. He's good, he's a keeper and he will be starting before this season is over. Hard to contain the excitement when you know this is the case. PEACE.

He definitely has a long way to be considered anything other than the 28th pick, but the talent is there.I'm not too sure he'd well he'll do with starters like Wade,LeBron, who need the ball in their hands but I think he'll thrive creating for Battier,Haslem,Pittman and Miller.

It'll definitely be interesting to see how the PG rotation works out(maybe Chalmers gets motivated and returns to production of rookie Chalmers which would be absolutely great with the big 3).

ESPN is going to hype up Cole more than us, if he continues to play well.

I was really saddened when we let go of Pat Beverley.

Hopefully, NCole can be 10x better than what I wished Pat Bev could've been. :)

I hate to be the one to constantly have to throw cold water, because I do like Cole, but they actually did that last year as well quite a bit, picking a key player other than the big 3 to give a grade to.

Yea you're right they gave a grade to Haslem in game 2 in the Chicago series after looking back at the previous heat reactions through google but in the rest of the playoffs it was a grade for the "Heat bench" or the "3 ball" "star power" or something of that nature.

It was more of a joke anyways, was just expecting something like "Heat d-leaguers impress" in that section or something.

I must admit having 3 great players on the floor makes it much easier for a guy with Coles athletecism to do well. But, he even exceeded my expectations in this game. I am truly excited to watch this guy develop over the next 3 seasons. It took Mario a few years to get to this point and Cole could do even better.

I don't even look at Cole and Mario as similar players. Their games are just so wildly different, but its nice because it allows for a change of pace. Mario still has value though, because I have to question Cole's 3-point shooting until he proves he can do it consistently at the NBA level, and I also wonder how good he'll be when he's forced off ball playing next to Wade/LeBron.

We were the big 4 then I realized the Heat have this Easter Island Head looking fellow, who I will not mention in name, with uncanny defense but an offensive game that is as obnoxious as a dirty queef.
Thus the Heat are not the Big 4 no more but the big 2.5.

It's all about the future IMO. We have to keep developing him, we have him for 4 years till we have to extend him again, he doesn't need to be the starter the first two years, he can be our 2nd unit leader, and if he turns into a star after 4 years, he can start taking ball handling duties away from Wade who would be 33 or 34? And Lebron who would be 30-31.

Man I love this kid. When he got drafted i scavenged for any form of video or article on this guy. I knew he would be great for our team but not this great. The kid is so unselfish yet scores at the same time. It will be very intriguing to see what his role will be in the regular season.

Spo's on with Sedano right now and talking some Cole Train. Says his nickname for Norris will continue to be "rook" until next season. Says he doesn't want him to take the foot off the gas (again). Said he expects him to get the offensive fouls and turnovers under control. Says he's gonna be coming off the bench, but is mature enough to handle the moment. Says the fans are gonna love him.

Sounds like he's a rotation player already. We're never this upbeat about young players. I have a feeling we are gonna lean on Norris a lot this season, and that he has the potential to not just start, but thrive. Anytime Spo talks about a young guy, he usually talks about his flaws and where he needs to improve. With Cole, he just talks about his role on the team and what he can contribute. He's ready, guys. PEACE.

"Take the foot off the gas", is that this seasons "grind", "dont let go of the rope" etc.
