Which teams will threaten the Heat the most this year?

Post#1 » by TRG » Wed Dec 21, 2011 2:13 am

Last year that team was undoubtedly the Celtics during the regular season. As good as our team was they beat us every time. Because of this, I (as well as most other Heat fans) thought that they would be our biggest obstacle to get past in the playoffs, until the Mavericks proved us wrong.

Which team(s) do you guys think pose the biggest threat of beating the Heat in a 7 game series this year? The season hasn't even started yet so this is just speculation.

In my opinion, the only teams I could realistically see beating the Heat in a 7 game series this year are the Bulls and OKC. The Bulls proved last season that they are our true EC rivals that will only get better while OKC is a young, up and coming team that can nearly match our own star power with Durant/Westbrook. In terms of the Mavs, there's no way in hell we lose to them twice in a row in the Finals especially now that they don't Chandler or JJ Barea to expose our weaknesses at the PG and C positions. The Celtics are a degrading team and are noticeably worse without Perkins.

What do you guys think?

We already won./green

Seriously, as long as all of the Heat's rotation guys are healthy (This is the KEY) - I think we can take any team in a 7 game series.

Sometimes a team has to pay its dues, and hopefully ours were paid last season.

Of course we can take any team in a 7 game series we're the most talented team in the NBA. The question is which team will give us the biggest challenge.

OKC is the only team I could see stretching a series to 7 games against us, provided we're fully healthy or at least damn close to it come playoff time.

The Bulls by far. The Rip Hamilton acquisition seems like the missing piece they needed.

I watched the Bulls/Pacers preseason game today and I have to agree with this. Hamilton looked very, very good out there. At least better than I thought he would look. The dude still has game.

Seems like the general consensus is OKC though, and for good reason.

Not really worried about any team this year. If the Bulls somehow got Howard then we'd be in for a run.

Memphis is a good team but there's no way they could hang with us in a 7 game series.

OKC scares the crap out of me, but this is if both teams were to get to the FInals.

In the East, the Bulls.

Rip did very well in the preseason game. I'd like to see if he would do the same as he did in regular games. Rose didn't take as much shots as he'd usually do, so we'll see how the season progresses.

They are still a good rebounding team, which can kill us lol.
