Chalmers or Cole?

Post#1 » by TheMiamiHeat3 » Sun Jan 1, 2012 2:01 pm

Cole has been impressing me lately. He runs fast break extremely well. Solid jumpshot. Not your elite athlete, but certainly is capable of flashy moves at times. Has the potential to overtake Mario in the starting spot. But he often plays outside of his limits. He usually takes difficult shots against positioned defenders. Hasn't been hitting 3s and takes too many fgas for my liking.

Chalmers has been hitting 3s, which is his role. Has been a terror in the passing lanes which causes fast break points. Played solid defense, and played within his limits.

Both have been playing well for the most part, but I expect Cole to be on another level in 2 years.

The thing that irks me with Chalmers is how poorly he runs the fast break. Whenever he's dribbling the ball up the court I'm like "don'tturnitoverdon'tturnitoverdon'tturnitover".

It's incredible that he's the veteran of the two, but makes such bad decisions with the ball.

He's a better pure scorer though, and I like his length on defense for getting steals, while I like Cole more for staying in front of his man.

I think in the end, we should be glad we have them both, they make a pretty good duo. They each bring something a little different, and both are young and athletic.

He takes the 4th most FGAs on our team because he is the 4th best scorer on our team.He already a better defender then Rio, changes pace and has great handles.

Before I come off as a Homer let it be known that Cole already has more minutes on the season than Chalmers so I cant be the only one in love with the kids game.

Yeah. I'm okay with him taking that many shots, but he needs some self control.

Things should stay as-is. I think Cole is a great energy guy, and combined with Haslem, Battier, and eventually Miller, our bench is going to be intense.

That being said, "Chuck" Norris aka "Clutch" Norris has been a great surprise. This kid is going places.

Right now Cole is best suited coming off the bench. Starting Cole wouldn't best use his talents since the Big 3 all can create their own shot. Having Cole come off the bench to pair up with LeBron (while Wade and Bosh both rest) would always provide a 2nd scoring option when needed

Cole needs to finish better at the rim if he is going all the way.

Ever since Cole's breakout game, Chalmers has stepped up.

I hate when he passes up WIDE OPEN 3's though.

Cole needs to know how to finish, so many buckets he missed after running a break.

WIth due time they'll get better.

I've been waiting for Chalmers to break out, I mean even his rookie season he was better. But if it means he has to do some competition with Cole, so be it lol.

But I don't want to choose inbetween the 2.... they both have to be consistent. Mostly Mario though.

I thought Mario got yanked too quickly in last game's 2nd half (3 minutes in). He was playing decent.

Dont worry Norris Coles will eventually take Chalmers starting position. Norris is just better all around.

Starting will be the veteran Chalmers over Coles most of the season and playoffs. Coles will still get his minutes and maybe more than Chalmers many games. Next year, different story.

I am glad we have them both, simple as that. I like Norris off the Bench to be honest. hes more of a pure scorer. We dont need anymore scoring in the lineup with bron-bosh-wade. plus going up against back up pg's right away will help Norris's confidence

I think Norris is a better passer than Chalmers, not just a pure scorer.

Cole is the better player but I like Chalmers starting. Cole can create his own shot much better, so when only one of the big 3 is in, and Cole is in, it's not up to that one player (usually LeBron or Wade) to create everything for the team. Cole in the starting lineup isn't really needed, and might actually take away from the big 3 because Cole does like to get his shots up.

Cole is the better PG but we need his energy coming off the bench.

Cole/Miller/Battier/Haslem/whoever is going to be a BEASTLY second unit.

Cole.

He's better at everything but stealing the ball and shooting 3s. That's the god's honest truth. Better passer, better scorer, better handle, better decision-making, better defender, better, better, better. He's only coming off the bench because he will help production that way. But he's just better. Even his worst game is still a good one because of the defense he played. Plus it was his first b2b.

I like Rio more than most, as I defended him all last season, but Cole is better and should be starting. I believe you play your best player the most minutes. Cole should be getting 30+minutes by midseason. Otherwise, we're wasting him. PEACE.

Both are good, keep Cole off the bench, love his energy.
