Who do you want to play more/less?

We're 15% into the season.

Assuming that the Big 3 play as many minutes as realistically possible to hold up over a compressed schedule that leaves 8 more guys to work into the rotation around them:

Chalmers, Cole, Haslem, Battier, Anthony, Jones, Harris and Pittman

Who do you think should be playing more?

Its easy for people to say someone should play more so for everyone you mention that should get more playing time there should be someone with a corresponding decrease in playing time.

For me Harris and Pittman aren't really rotation guys as of yet.

I want Anthony to take some minutes from Haslem.

I want Chalmers to take some minutes from Cole.

I want to cut some of Battier's minutes temporarily until he can find his shot (even in practice) and give those minutes to Jones and Cole (in a backcourt with Chalmers when we need some offense with Wade/Bosh or Lebron sitting)

I don't like the Haslem/Battier combo on the court at the same time. The gum up the offense and some of their defensive skills overlap.

I agree that Haslem has been getting too many minutes, especially at end of games. I don't understand why Anthony never sees the court in the second half and I feel like Harris has played himself into the rotation. I think it is tough to decide who gets minutes b/c all these guys do different things well but I think Spolstra needs to go with what is working on a given night. But I do not think he will b/c there are clearly players he trusts more than others.

This won't happen, but in a schedule like this I would try and reduce the Big 3's minutes as much as possible -

1. I never thought I would say this, but reduce Haslem's minutes. He has been atrocious outside of rebounding. Can't make a shot (Either misses, or gets blocked), can't dribble, and has bad court vision. He reminded me of Joel on offense last night. Make shots once again and you're fine. Until then, go spend some time with the bench.

2. More Pittman. He has looked decent in limited time. Played a solid 3 minutes last night in the 1st half, only to not see the court in the 2nd half. I'm not asking for big minutes, 5-8 per night for starters.

3. More James Jones. I don't care if he can't defend, he's a shot maker from 3 - something Battier hasn't shown consistently for us. He and Chalmers are the only guys I trust shooting 3's.

4. I'm neutral on the Chalmers-Cole issue, just go with the hot hand. Chalmers has been light's out this year, but for those speedy guards Cole is the man. He can actually stay in front of quick guards w/out fouling.

5. I would not mind more Harris either. He can rebound and plays good defense.

Spo needs to start reducing the Big 3's minutes. Speed up the adjustments as well, even though last night's loss is not on him IMO.

Everything you said, but the opposite

Norris and Chalmers splitting minutes at PG is fine.

Less Joel Anthony

A little More Dexter Pittman. I think the best thing we can do in his development is let him get a feel for the NBA game. We need to see what he can do now before we are forced into a situation where we have to play him.

I think all of our wings are deserving of playing time. James Jones has earned it more than any, but its going to be impossible to find more minutes, especially when miller comes back. Right now I do think Battier is getting too many minutes although he has been productive defensively.

I dont think the big 3 need their minutes reduced. We just have to hold on to our leads. Spoelstra is again our biggest weakness imo.

Although he is fast, Cole can't stay in front of quick 1s yet. Nate was getting free throws on every drive.

Play More:

Terrell Harris
James Jones (with plays drawn up with not an offensive moment wasted)
Dexter Pittman (with the ball being fed to him in stints)
Norris Cole
Mickell Gladness

Play Less:

Joel Anthony
Dwyane Wade
Udonis Haslem
Mario Chalmers

I would like to see Cole being allowed to play PG with the big 3 on the floor.

James Jones & Harris to a smaller degree are not only potential zone breakers, but also half court outside threats that must be utilized as such. The only thing holding the Heat back right now is coaching, player management (minutes/rotations) and egos/occasional selfish plays/forcing shots.

in two of our 3 losses the tempo was slow.... also Norris logged the least minutes. I say Cole gets more run to speed up the tempo of the game and use the athleticism we have on the team. Everyone should be getting more minutes from our bench.

Spo does not like to chance lineups esp if close and in overtime forget ever seeing a play get changed. This has got to stop from Spo and we need fresh legs constantly. We are good enough to win without Lebron and Wade why are we struggling with them.

Also Miller is healthy lets get him in the game with Cole.
