Big 3 are playing too many minutes

Post#1 » by Moggs24 » Thu Jan 12, 2012 6:27 pm

I was watching another OT game for us last night and the only thing I was thinking is we are exerting way too much effort here. Our team really looked exhausted to me last night and we were basically involved in another playoff type game for no real reason.

Since Wade has come back he has logged 37 and 42 minutes respectively. He looks slow and appears to have almost no explosion in his legs. How exactly is running our main stars into the ground this early in the season going to help us long term. Spo needs to start using his whole bench and allow Lebron, Wade and Bosh to stay fresh during the course of the year.

Who knows how those bench players will develop and who can help this team come playoff time. Let's stop playing OT every night and start taking care of business in regulation. Last night Pittman, Jones, Harris, and Howard were all DNP, that makes no sense to me on the end of a back to back.

Rest is not the answer. Work is the answer. We only went 8 deep last night, but for the most part, I dont think we look exhausted as much as we look lazy and sloppy.

I really hate the complacent attitude. When great players fall short, they work harder. A minute more of rest per game isnt going to change the outcome.

Most great players wont sit on the bench even if they are injured unless they absolutely cant play. These dudes need a fire lit under their asses and unfortunately spo isnt capable of doing it.

If kobe can perform despite age and injury, it should be much easier for younger and healthier, Wade, Bosh and Lebron playing on the same team to distribute the load get it done. Not one of them has to run the offense through them the entire game while they are on the floor for this team to be effective like other stars often do as well.

The heats big 3 minutes are on par with other allstars in the league.

if they would've made their free throws they wouldn't have played so many minutes in the last 2 games

Before these two overtime games Lebron was averaging 36 minutes a game and Wade had sat 3 consecutive games for an injury he probably could have played through if it was the playoffs. Is it really a surprise these guys play big minutes in games that last 53 minutes long? Chris Paul played almost 45 minutes yesterday and they were also on the 2nd game of a back to back. We make FT's and Lebron and Wade play just under 37 minutes.

They make too much money. They all should have taken like 3 million less so we could get players who can play 20-25 minutes at the 2, 3 and 4. You cant have a rookie, Battier and Haslem out there without someone who can create their own shot (Jamal Crawford, Marquis Daniels, James Harden, ect).

I don't know where you guys got the idea our bench was improved. They should bench Wade and make Bosh the second option with the way the roster is structured at the moment.

So you guys think that we couldn't better utilize players like Howard, Jones, Harris, and Pittman all of which did not play yesterday, in order to be fresher for the end of the game. Also it is not a good idea to have a player coming back from injury play as many minutes as Wade has played. Players want to play and they will unless their coach sits them down, it is his job to see Wade isn't himself and tell him to take a seat.

Haslem at 39% shooting, 10% under his career average along with the nightly size mismatch at that position also has me concerned.

That's what happens when you play overtimes. They can't NOT play Wade or Lebron or Bosh in the overtime of these games. Otherwise we'd be fine on minutes.

We just need to start taking care of business in regulation. Simple as.

This has concerned me since 07 but Haslem is a permanent part of this rotation

30 minutes for Haslem is absurd. Spo is starting to get it. I think we'll see a lot of Bron at the 4 when miller comes back.

Spo wanted to limit Wade's minutes the other night and he played him 38minutes. Thats all you need to know.
