Big week coming For the Heat
And a busy one
Cavs
@ Pistons
Knicks
Bulls
Two games coming up against bad teams which we need to win if we want to challenge the bulls for the top seed. We sit at 5th right now but we know that won't last
Knicks is always a good entertaining battle no matter how much they have struggled and the big one on Sunday vs the bulls. Even though both teams are banged up it should be a good game. Likely no deng for Chicago. So this week we have a good chance to gain some ground on the bulls.

This team needs to get its act together starting tonight, too many bad losses. Some of you may be content with squeaking in the playoffs as a 2 or 3 seed and just believing "well we did it last year". No, this team needs to challenge Chicago and go for the 1 seed, and start beating teams that they're supposed to beat. Anything short of 4-0 this week is a disappointment, and there's really no excuse. Everybody's playing back to backs, 2 games in 3-4 days, etc..I dont want to hear the excuses this week, take care of business

I hate losing games we should win as well but seeding is honestly not at all important. All of us would like to see them be more committed to the regular season but they are clearly not. As long as they are ready to go come playoff time that is all that matters.

Some say Wade wore down in the ECF last year. Why? Because this team got the 2nd seed and had to go through a gauntlet of Boston and Chicago, while Chicago got the 1 seed and coasted to the ECF. I dont want to see this team in a position this year where they will once again have to take on the #3 in the 2nd round, and then play Chicago again with the Bulls having homecourt.

The Bulls were getting their ass handed to them by Indiana and were not doing so hot against the Hawks.
They didn't coast at all. That team was a great regular season team but wasn't made for the playoffs.
Heat are a playoff team, they not consistent on defense like the Bulls are and they aren't consistent on offense.
But you give them 7 games to beat you they will probably show up for at least 5 of those games.
I say they should use the regular season to develop some type of consistency and not just hang on every game they win and not get their ass handed to them every game they lose.

Re: Big week coming For the Heat
I know this team has a problem playing down to other teams, but I also know the team knows how important this week is. They need to come out really strong tonight and destroy the Cavs which gives the big-3 time to rest in the 4th. Detroit shouldn't be too tough either if we play at our potential and not down at the Pistons level. The first two games the Heat should have a big enough lead that the Big 3 don't need to play all or most of the fourth.
The Knicks game is going to be a battle even though they aren't playing well, in these types of games everyone steps it up. I hope Amare is still trying to "hunt" on South Beach and that everyone just buries them. It shouldn't really be a close game because the Heat is a much better team, but I know the Knicks will put everything into this game. Curry should see sometime this game, and would be nice for him to get a couple of buckets against his old team.
The Chicago game is the only one I am really worried about. It would be a nice statement win for how far this team has come especially in the regular season if Miami could pull out a nice W. With Deng possibly out, LeBron should be able to get some better looks. This game is going to have to be an all around team effort. Curry will be nice addition for this game as well. But this regular season team with a healthy Haslem, Miller, and the addition of Curry should help down low.

Re: Big week coming For the Heat
Knicks and Bulls games are going to be two tough ones. I know the Knicks are in a slump big time, but both teams get that adrenaline rush when they see eachother and they will both be great games.
And I personally don't care about seeding unless it's in the bottom. Top 3 is fine with me.
The thing is, I think teams like Atlanta and Indiana can give the Heat trouble. I know they blew them out, but they weren't ready for the punch Heat were going to give them. They are STILL a very good club, big and deep.
Oh and Orlando. We give them wide open 3's and they always get back into games. It's ridiculous.
Atlanta now, their defense did get better and their zone bothers me. Yeah yeah Heat beat them in a 3OT game without Wade and LBJ, however there are always people from their bench that kills us
I thought it'd end with Crawford gone. Guess not -_-

I don't care if we lose the other three games. But we HAVE to beat the Knicks. If we let the Knicks beat us the knicks fans down here will never shut up again. We could totally turn their whole season around if we lost to them.
We need to finish them off now.

So we're 3.5 games behind the Bulls, and the one game we HAVE to win is against the Knicks? Really? Are you serious?

Ya I don't follow that one. We need to beat both teams. We need to beat the Knicks because they just aren't at the same caliber as the Heat. And we need to beat the Bulls to trim that lead down, and finally beat them in the regular season.

He says specifically the Knicks because of their fanbase on here. I'm guessing you haven't seen the Knicks fans troll around here before the season started or seen their board before the season started

But gotta beat both either way.

Re: Big week coming For the Heat
next week is going to be worse, on the road, and back to Milwaukee after having a game the night before lmao
I hope Wade gets back for the Knicks and Bulls...
I can't watch this team anymore without Wade. LBJ's ballstopping makes me cry

Re: Big week coming For the Heat
3 more wins here would be huge. Would put us about 1.5 games behind the Bulls, with only one more loss than them. With Deng being out for perhaps an extended period of time, we really need to go on a bit of a streak here to catch the Bulls and pass them.
Part of the reason Knicks won against us last year was Billups. Dude hit some big shots and always seems to hit bad 3's against us, even on the Clippers this year he got the stupid 3 free throws to win the game against us. Praying for four wins this week.

Re: Big week coming For the Heat
The problem I see is, that if we beat the Bulls, people will pull the 'lol regular season' argument that we used against people believing the Bulls were a better team than the Heat in the Play Offs, against us, if we win regular season games against Chicago. However, I REEEEEALLY want to beat them and NY. I want this team to go off on a double-digit winning streak, and take the #1 Record in the whole league. A team with LBJ, Wade, Bosh, and role players like Haslem, Battier, Miller, Chalmers, and Cole, should be able to do just that.
...but oh boy do I want to beat the Knicks. At School, there is this one guy that I know, and he is a Knicks fan, always talking about Stat and Melo. He is one of those guys that believes that Melo > James, and Amar'e > Bosh. I've been tempted to ask him 'So, the Knicks are back?" but I resisted the temptation
.
Back on topic, it would be a testament to the overall improvements this team has made from last season, to beat Chicago and NY. We split against NY (dropping the last two games in the final minutes, series tied 2-2), and Chicago swept us 3-0, each game being decided by a margin of 3 points or less.

Re: Big week coming For the Heat
Only positive thing to look at this week is that although the Heat seem to play down to the weaker teams, they have really stepped up this year in prime time against big teams. Lakers, Mavs, Celtics, Spurs, were all big games that they handled quite easily. The only major team they faltered against was Denver, but for some reason Denver always has the Heat's #. The Clippers game that team lost themselves by not making FT. I have confidence going into this week which isn't the same as it was last year against big teams.

After 17 games last season... 9-8
After 17 games this season... 12-5(9 of 17 games without Wade)
I'll take it.

2-0 after another poor showing against an inferior team
Some highlights for the night, it looks like Chicago and Atlanta are both gonna lose. Miami will pass ATL for 2nd in the East, 1.5 games back of Chicago.
edit: The Bulls are closing the gap on the Pacers so hold on to the above

Re: Big week coming For the Heat
Well uh, the past 3 games I haven't see the real Miami Heat.
WILL THE REAL MIAMI HEAT PLEASE STAND UP!
The offense is bad, the defense is bad but has good spurts.
I honestly can't wait til Wade is back, something is wrong. Going neck and neck against inferior teams and blowing leads and all kind of crap.
Maybe it's because they aren't pumped, I don't know. But I hope to see the real Heat and Wade back SOON Friday or Sunday.
