Tu Holloway in Miami Next Year?

Post#1 » by geistmoney » Sun Jan 29, 2012 9:15 pm

Currently Tu Holloway isn't ranked to be drafted, but I believe he'd be a good fit with Norris Cole in the back court. They're both 4 year seniors, with Tu having better court awareness, and Cole being a quick scoring threat off the bench. I'm not saying Miami should draft him in the first, but believe he could be a nice surprise for a veteran laden team.

This is all based on the fact they don't resign Chalmers, which I don't think they should. Young or veteran point guards are a plenty in the league, i'd rather see them spend their MLE on a big man.

Thoughts?

Pretty sure Chalmers is locked up for 3 more years or something.

We gave Chalmers a 3 year, $12M deal I believe. Center is a more pressing need, but I actually wouldn't mind another PG.

The Lakers have Blake and Fisher. Blake gets injured and they are left with Fisher and 2 unproven rookies in Andrew Goudelock and Darius Morris. That's not a good situation to be in.

Wade and LeBron are more part-time, than full-time PG's.

I think Center is going to be the primary focus of our energies next year. Our roster is pretty crammed at this point, so really, unless you are 6-10 or taller, there's no use of even trying.

If one of the PGs gets injured, we slide Lebron to the point, and play James Jones more again. Not a bad third string option to have.

The problem for the Lakers is that neither Blake or Fisher are better than either of our point guards. And Kobe can't play PG because he's too selfish.
