Derrick Rose doesn't think All-Star dancing was right

"I can dance," Rose said after Sunday night's All-Star Game. "But there's a time and place for that and I don't think it was right then and there."
"I don't care," Rose said. "You just know that's me, man. If you would have saw me out there dancing, you would have been looking at me different. I'm just me. I can't be anybody else. I think that's what people see."

Is that supposed to be seen as being "humble"? Or just being ignorant? Its an all-star game or Pete's sake! The fans voted you to see you in it! At least smile for them! D-Wade, Bron, Howard & Melo were all dancing. This dude.......I just get confused with his so called "humility".

Oh and btw, just imagine if it had been Lebron not dancing and then coming out with these comments. The whole media would be on his back now.

"I can dance," Rose said

This is all I came in here to say, Rose is just mad because he doesn't have the moves that Dwight and Lebron have.

At first I didn't make much of this, but then I heard ESPN discussing it the other day and thought of that Rose didn't take the festivities over the weekend as what they were: FUN!

It wasn't the NBA Finals let alone the post-season.

To each their own.

Someone should inform Mr.Rose that he's a basketball player, not a cop or fireman(real jobs). stop being so serious all the damn time and have fun out there. life is too short to be a damn grouch.

SPO said it best, "You don't have to be humbled to be humble."

Rose exposed as a faker

Let's be real, LBJ's dancing skills beat Rose's any day of the week, twice on Sunday

Here's a video of the moment, btw. You can skip to the 4:41 mark to see the east intros. See the look this dude gives Lebron like "man gtfoh with all that dancing sh*t". :-?

We should not make a big deal out of this. If Roae does not want to dance, then just let it be. No one should be making a big deal out of this.

I'm not. Its his comments that make a big deal out of it. I actually disregarded it until I read his comments. And then with Bulls fans trying to brand him as a "professional" and everyone else as "clowns". Its just funny.

It's not a big deal quite honestly. Rose probably just answered the question and, as usual, it's getting blown out of proportion. D-Wade wasn't really dancing either, he just didn't have that mean look on his face either. But, as Flash3 said, to each their own.

Maybe Buzz Killington just thinks this is the proper time and place to dance:

The reason for not dancing isn't because he's a depressed/fake humble "above it"/ no fun type guy or because he's a professional/whatever Rose fans labeled him. He's said it last year I think that he doesn't dance because he's shy and he would feel embarrassed. Nothing really else to it.

He wasn't calling out the others and obviously dancing at the all-star doesn't make you a clown. Just because you hate the posters on here that love Rose, the media attention he got last year, or the fact that he is on one of your rivals shouldn't affect how your view of things.

I like that he tried to play it off that there was a time and place for dancing, and the place wasn't when a bunch of music is playing and everyone around you is dancing before a game that means nothing and is for the fans.

I thought in general the Bulls made the All-star game suck. Thibs didn't play Rose nearly enough for him being the reigning MVP. And Deng sucked/got himself hurt. Also Thibs did a terrible job coaching. It's crazy to me that we never got to see Bosh/Lebron/Wade play together for a long stretch. I also don't get why Deron Williams sat so long in the third quarter.

He should have mixed up that second unit better, because that was the unit that really created the huge deficit against the East.

Rose needs to lighten up. Or start winning titles.

I'm not in any way denying that he's a great player, If course he is. You don't win an MVP award by being an average player. I'm just saying he really needs to loosen up and flow with everybody else. The fact that the other players are not Bulls players doesn't mean its the ECF intros where you have to make some stone face. My point is, it was for the fans.

I'm not even saying he should have danced hard like LBJ & Howard. Maybe just smile? Fell free for a moment? Wade did not exactly dance but he still didn't look so stone faced.

I agree with you and I'm not quite sure why he didn't smile at all. I still don't get why he doesn't really enjoy exhibition games, him playing lifeless bothers me more than anything. It's unfortunate that when he actually tried, thibs pulled him and never put him back in the game (Dwill was playing phenomenal though).

I personally don't care but D-Rose gets away with some things that LeBron would get crucified for, like talking about his legacy lol. Like imagine if LeBron didn't dance and everyone else did. It'd be like, "WAS LEBRON CHOKING DURING THE INTRODUCTIONS?!"

D-Rose as a whole doesn't look like he has fun at the All-Star game, including last year. He's just... there. He doesn't even try in game. Yeah it's the All-Star, but it's for the fans too. He makes it boring... sorry to say. I find it funny he smiled a lot during an interview with Craig and Wade was next to him, and they were talking about being rivals or something like that. But doesn't crack a smile being introduced or anything.

Meh, whatever lol.

And there have been in the past All-Stars dancing and having fun at the intro's. Even Yao Ming lol. I think Rose meant he just didn't feel like dancing at that moment, not that it was wrong to do that.

He always looks like the party pooper at these All-Star games though . And damn dude, you are making threads that will attract trolls and controversy :(
