He'd be a pretty big help. Take the load off Haslem, spread the floor, run pick and pops with just about everyone. If healthy, I'd take him.

Any word on whether they will sign him?

I find that weird because there's nobody to cut for him to PLAY. He can take Gladness's spot, on the bench, in a suite...

swear I heard it was a done deal he was going to the Lakers though.

Cut Gladness and put useless Howard in a suit. Or just let him stay at home.

Nothing as of right now. We've also been linked to a Fesenko, and Chris Anderson/Kaman.

Credit to @MikeRyan790 for report on Rasheed Wallace working out for Heat last week. When I've got more, will post. Actively seeking big.

Without knowing what sort of condition he is in, I still say take him and use him at the C spot most of the time.

Pittman and Curry both suck. They are worse than Big-Z or Dampier of last season. I'm not giving up on them but let's be real here, they are long term projects and aren't contributing anything this season. Cut Gladness and make room for him.

He might be a hot head and have a temper on the court but I've never heard of him being a locker room cancer. IMO he did a good job for the Celtics in the 2010 playoff's. Very good post defender and he can space the floor at the PF/C spots for us.

I think he's washed up, but it'd be great to have someone like that on our team, because he always is talking crap to the media about other teams, and it might give us some more swagger and get the media off Lebron and Wade's backs a little bit. I think though that he is completely past it, and is worse than Juwan Howard, both in terms of remaining skill, and as a professional.

I guess beggars can't be choosers though. I think we're better off waiting until after the trade deadline to see who gets bought out, or trying to get Chris Kaman with Dexter and Terrel Harris.

Those salaries don't even come close to off setting his. He's getting a little over 14 mill a year. The only way he comes here is if he gets a buyout from NO, and knowing Sterns feeling about "powerhouse teams" getting even more good players he won't buy him out knowing hell end up in Miami.

Nice!

Post-Lakers game: Sign him right now.

I may have to turn off the television from now on whenever Pittman or Howard (Maybe even Haslem) enter the game. It's becoming bad for my health watching these scrubs.

Absolutely do not want him. The negatives FAR FAR FAR outweigh any positives (if there are even any positives). He was awful two years ago, I'm sure he's worse than awful now.

I don't get the negatives. Teams he has played for said he was a great glue guy on and off the court. He has that fire during game time where he got into trouble when he was young. He would be nice for 10-15 mpg.

How much worse can he be than Pittman/Curry/Gladness/Howard? Obviously if we worked him out, something must have caught the scouts/Riley's eye.

The question we should be asking is: can it really get worse than Pittman/Curry/Gladness/Howard?

If there is such thing, oh God :(.

I can't find anything recent but here's a video of him playing in one of those lame exhibition games in July of last year -

Never heard of him causing trouble with teammates. In his Portland days he was a bit of a knuckle head but that was a long time ago. He was fine in Detroit and Boston.

I like his competitive fire even though he went over the top often (Technicals) lol.

I'd take him over Pittman at this point.
