WT: Heat calling about reserve Big Man

Post#1 » by OtW » Mon Mar 5, 2012 7:35 pm

Per wiretap. It does not take a genius to figure this out, bu Pay has been shopping around for other team's reserve Centers. Like everyone has pointed out, they'd be starting on our team

http://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/21 ... ve_Big_Man

With Chris Bosh unavailable due to a death in his family, the Lakers exploited Miami's lack of size in a 93-83 win.

The Heat have been calling around the NBA in an attempt to explore trades for a reserve big man, according to executives.

Miami also worked out Rasheed Wallace, according to a radio station.

Joel Anthony is a power forward playing center, while Dexter Pittman and Eddy Curry have been unable to give the team meaningful minutes.

Who do you think we can cut a deal for if Kaman is not magically bought out by Stern? Darko sitting on the Minny bench?

Windhorst better not be making this up.

Anyone with a brain can see that our current rotation is trash. In fact, I'd take last season's PF/C rotation over the one we're rolling out this season. If Bosh is healthy we're fine, but if anything happens to him or Joel (Yes, Joel Anthony) we're screwed.

It takes time to integrate players. The sooner this is addressed the better.

Same, Dampier, old guy Z>>> Pittman and Curry.

As terrible as those guys were, Dampier could catch and dunk and Z could stretch the floor which is what allows LeBron/Wade to penetrate with him bringing Bynum/Gasol out of the paint.

Pittman as much as I was campaign for him to get minutes is big for nothing, doesn't have enough lift to dunk and is extremely foul prone, and curry can't play defense or rebound. And of course Joel is almost useless when Heat play against bigger frontcourts because they literally just rebound over him, it's like he's a midget compared to Bynum/Gasol and the Utah frontcourt.

Joel would be SO perfect coming off the bench, but unfortunately Heat don't have that luxury.

I would love Darko here. We'd have a starting lineup with 4/5 top 2003 draft picks!

I wouldn't want Big Z again... I mean let's get someone who has had a few years in the league and isn't exactly slow. AND would be used by Spo....

Kaman ain't being bought out by Stern.... no way.

What happened to all of the players "beating down our door to play here" now we have to MAKE THE CALLS.

probably because we have no money... but the vet min.

People still want to join, but we need Center's not guards. Other teams have Center's rotting on their bench, and that same Center would start for us

I have not been following other teams "centers" lately, can you name just 2 or 3 that I can look at that would/should play for the vet min or would be affordable through a basic trade?

I personally think the only way we get somebody is through a trade.

I don't know I mean we'd have to send one of our bigs back and I don't have a problem with that at all....I just don't think anyone would be willing to take any of them back. I mean even if they shopped Haslem, his value has gone way down because of this shooting slump that's lasted the whole season. Unfortunately I think we're just gonna have to make due with what we have. As bad as that sounds :banghead: :curse: :censored: :hoop:

Anyone but Joel Anthony!!!

We need a center that can catch, make a layup and rebound...Come on Riley make it happen! This season the less Joel has played the better we have played. Last season I felt we were most effective when we could rebound from center position.

Chris Anderson , Darko Milicic these two players can be obtained for draft picks or if David Stern buys out Chris Kaman and he comes for the vet min loll imagine we release Curry and Pittman and get Darko and Kaman we got 5 of the 6 top 6 picks in the 2003 draft haha.

Does anyone have a state line on JJ Hickson, but only when he is playing exclusively at C, not PF?

Pat would trade him in a heart beat if it makes the team better. The thing is right now who would even want UD? Last season he was over producing for his contract, this season hes vastly underproducing.

Eh, although Hickson has potential, he's 6 ft 9 and weighs 242 pounds. I doubt he could anchor the Center position for us. Plus he's a Power Forward, we already have Bosh/UD at that position, so I don't see how Hickson would get minutes.

I'd love him to develop here, but he just simply does not fill our needs as of now. Plus, if we traded UD for him, people would be calling for Riley's head.
