Jason Terry Interested in Joining Heat

MIAMI - Dallas guard Jason Terry has battled the Miami Heat in a pair of hotly contested NBA Finals. Now, he's considering joining them.
Terry has been disappointed since before the season that the Mavericks did not offer him a contract extension. So Terry will be a free agent this summer, and the Heat intrigue him.
"Miami is definitely a title contender. For sure," Terry told FOX Sports Florida before Dallas' 106-85 loss at AmericanAirlines Arena about his interest. "(Team president) Pat Riley is a great guy and what he's done with the organization is tremendous.
"No question, they need a veteran shooter, a guy who can score besides LeBron (James) and (Dwyane Wade), and they know they can count on. I'm a guy that's been in this league 13 years, (averaging) 15 points a night, easy. Off the bench or the starting lineup, it doesn't matter. So I think I'd be an asset to them."
http://www.foxsportsflorida.com/03/29/1 ... edID=10140Is it the case of hating someone when he's your opponent but loving him when he's your team or is it the case of just f*** no?

Well, he might finally stop me from hating him.

he wants a lot of money so Idk. I can't see him leaving Dallas and leaving Dirk.
Also Terry is streaky as hell man. Yeah he killed us, but I don't know. He would chuck the ball a lot.
He would be the 4th option if he ever came here, he's the 2nd in Dallas basically.
Idk, I think we can find another guy who can chuck and be a spark for cheaper and younger...
He's that guy who can score a lot off the bench because he use to start and stuff. It's like having Wade off the bench in the Olympics lol.

He said Dallas refused to renew his contract because they're going after Howard & D-Will.

If we win the title this year we're gonna have so many free agents wanting to come here it's not even gonna be fair.
First we're hearing from Nash now Terry...

I'm pretty sure some of these "I'd be interested in Miami" quips are just ways of upping value. Want to have a few collective "Oh ****!"s uttered across the league and up your profile and offers, be a decent player and mention an interest in the Heat.

Unless it's for the VM, I don't believe any of it is happening.

I said the same exact thing to myself when I saw the thread title.
I can't stand him as much as the next Heat fan but I'm sure that would change if he had a Heat uniform on.
We don't have anybody that can score off the bench like him, or Harden, or Odom, etc. You can win titles without those types but it's definitely a luxury.
All this being said I'm with those that say it's not happening. We probably can't afford him and he's likely using us. So F.U. Jason Terry.

I didn't even like LeBron preheat but I accepted it because he'd help the team.... Terry on the other hand isn't going to be a game changer and I really do think he is on the decline. **** him.

Haha yeah basically how I feel. He realizes Mavs arent gonna give him an extension and he wants to go to another serious contender. smh

I wouldn't mind if he wants to come here for the vet min, or whatever min we can offer. I don't agree with jettisoning anyone for him, though. How old is he? We might be taking on 2 dinosaurs next season. PEACE.

I don't know, Miami really needs a guy who can create offense, not just be a spot up shooter.
I'd love to get either Terry or Nash in with our mini MLE, because:
1. Nash can run an offense properly, he can distribute, change the pace of the game, spot of for his shot, get into the lane and find anyone. He can also hit free throws.
2. Terry can hit contested shots, he can score off the dribble, he can go quarters regularly
where he'll score 10+ points.
I really think Miami are missing a guy who can create, and whilst I'd love to have Allen, if those two other guys were going to say yes too us. I'd probably pick them first over Allen, just because he's not as good at creating a shot these days. I'd still take him in a heart beat though. He'd be amazing in Miami, also another great free throw shooter to have in the clutch.

I would rather have Terry or Allen over Nash though for defensive reasons. We would have Terry scoring off bench would really help us and that is his natural role would be best fit we need scoring off bench sometimes we go dry last night was the exception. Nash starting against teams like Chicago, OKC, LA Clippers, Indiana, Philadelphia ETC. with great fast strong young point guards will be liability on defense means Wade or Lebron would have to guard them or Spo would have to have Chalmers or Cole start against those teams or maybe have them play more minutes than Nash if that were the case. Terry is younger than Nash or Allen also so can have few more years with him hopefully. We do not need more guys to pass/distribute on offense our fast break is ignited by our DEFENSE & REBOUNDING. As long as we have ball movement like we did last night against Dallas all is good. Allen is the king of the 3 and runs all over the place wares defenses down plays good defense and at times can drive to the hoop too. Nash needs the ball to be productive Terry or Allen do not they are productive off the ball. Terry is a shooting guard but can also play point guard if need be like he does at times for Dallas and he can drive to the hoop also at times. Terry & Allen have both been on championship teams
