Should the starters rest or go for HCA vs. the West?

#1 seed in the East is out of the question, but home court vs. the Thunder and Spurs is still up for grabs. Considering Miami's road woes against the better teams HCA could end up being the difference between glory and infamy. On the other hand, the way things are going the team would be wise to not get ahead of themselves. They still have to get out of the East and there's no guarantee that they would face either the Spurs or Thunder in the finals.

THey aren't resting, especially the way they have been playing.
They should try to get momentum into the playoffs and learn some damn team ball. Or hell, let's play the bench til they get a rhythm to go into the playoffs. lol

Let them rest the last game or two, that should be enough.

Yeah, they should go for it.

Personally, I think we're past the "resting players" stage, don't think it really matters at this stage. They need a rest from this defensive scheme.

I would play out the NY game and after that, give them a few games off and lower minutes. Also play more zone and man to man to give our legs some rest.

Lbj is usually better without HCA

Call me crazy, but IF we ever go to the Finals with that 2-3-2 format, I rather be the road team.

I also prefer to not have homecourt advantage in the finals. It can come in handy if the series goes to seven games, but if the team with HCA drops just one of the first two games they suddenly experience a lot of added pressure due to three straight away games.

I want LBJ to get some rest. Most of the other superstars have sat at some point recently and should be pretty fresh for the playoffs. Melo, Amare, Rose, right now Kobe is sitting, Wade gets his games, the Spurs rest their guys. I see both sides of the coin since the team isn't playing well but when LeBron openly admits that he's banged up and tired I think they should rest him.

I would rest Wade and Lebron up until the last like three games. And then play them there to get them back ready for the playoffs. I think the strategy of resting guys going into the playoffs at the very end is flawed. You want to be in rhythm.
Anyways, the tough spot Spo is in is that he needs to see the team fall back into good habits before shutting them down, but they won't get back to good habits so long as they are tired. So it's a catch 22 for him.

Fan from...that other team in the East. Heat defense in the ECF was absolutely terrific last year and as WD said above, it takes a lot of energy to play at that elite level.
Do you think they'll be able to ratchet it up to that level again with the heavy minutes of the big 3 and the compressed schedule?
It's an interesting season...everyone on RGM makes their predictions, but I think it's really just guess work this year. My guess is that it will be you, us, SAS, OKC or as a dark horse, Memphis, left standing in the end.

I'm starting to feel this way. Those 3 straight games in Dallas was brutal. The home team gets way too comfortable.
Can you imagine 3 straight games against OKC in OKC?
but we gotta concentrate on the playoffs and actually getting there first. Never assume, we did a lot of that last year and our little hearts were broken

play out tonight then get some rest. that doesn't mean not playing the rest of the regular season but we have a lot of games in a few day period. Don't play all of them.
however I'm in two fantasy finals and would like Wade to play enough for my teams to win them

HCA is always good nothing like home cooking and sleeping in your own bed

I think the true Finals is the ECF IMO. I believe the who ever comes out of Eastern Conference will win it or at least should. I voted on resting our starters though because we need to make it to the ECF and win those first than think about the Finals.

I hope Wade and Lebron don't play against New Jersey tomorrow night. Lebron has that excuse of his ankle, hopefully the coaches will use it.
Let Bosh build some confidence going on the Nets. I don't care if we lose. But I wouldn't play Wade or Lebron in any of the remaining back to backs. I'd play them in the Chicago game and the Boston game, but the rest, who cares? We're locked into the 2 seed. We want these guys to get their second wind going for the playoffs.
