Unleash the Curry!

Desperate times calls for desperate measures.

I know Curry is known for being over weight. And yes he is bad on defense.

But honestly....Play the guy some in the last few games of the season. Get him some work.

Say what you want about Curry. He does have good hands and a nice touch around the basket. The Heat struggle with getting points in the half court. If would be nice to have somebody you can throw the ball down to in the paint to get a basket.

Its worth a shot at least??? See how he does at the end of the regular season. You never know what a guy can do until he gets consistent minutes right? Spo is already going try a new lineup every game anyway. Might as well play Curry some.

His time has run out. Too little time for him to really get into GAME SHAPE. He always looked bad when he played as well. He needs a whole season with the staff and a FULL training camp. We'll be better next year.... hopefully.

edit : he is playing now and looks bad. Pittman looks better lmao.

I'm assuming this thread was created before Curry got garbage time play? I'd take an unleashed Pittman over him.

id still take Dex to be honest. and not just because of his game against the Bobcats, lets face it the cats stopped playing D by the time Dex came in but i think his game is more developed at this point than Curry's.

even saying that Dex still only gets garbage mins in playoffs. unless he shows something more consistently in this little run to the playoffs

Dex has played more this season than Eddy. It's not suprising when he plays better than Eddy. Eddy has had like no practice time. I think this year was kind of a success just because Curry was able to stay somewhat in shape, and just focus on basketball again. The only people with expectations of Eddy were us. The coaching staff and the players all downplayed him all year.

I really like Turiaf though. That signing worked a lot better than I thought it could.

I liked the gamble with Eddy but he's still not got it.

Cut him and bring in a backup PG, just in case.

Gabrielle Union talks dating, sports (April 17, 2012)

It’s early still, but any thoughts about the playoffs this year or what you would love to see happen come June?

I don’t want to put the horse before the carriage, but we’re in April and … we’re getting down to the wire. I’m very excited for when they unleash Eddy Curry on someone. I cannot wait for that day. I think we’ve been holding him back, and he’s like the bucking bronco ready to charge out of the gate. I’m really excited to see how it all jells and how it all comes together, and I think the Heat will be a force to be reckoned with. But it’s day-to-day, and it’s always a process. So I would never jinx anyone.

I wouldn't mind if they used him a decent amount for the rest of the season. Maybe it will help? Could be a decent addition against bigger players in the playoffs. But I think the experiment has failed and is over. Doesn't mean if they just decide to take the 2nd seed and rest that he won't see minutes with Pittman.

Eddy Curry helping to eliminate the Knicks in the first round would be the greatest feel good story of the year. but I really dunno, he seemed really outta place last time he was in game.

HIF: what pg do you suggest

LMAO. Maybe next year because Eddy Curry has looked bad... if he was going to enter the playoffs, NOW is the time to get playing time. But Spo can't even figure out his rotations yet!

I am NOT an Eddie Curry fan. Let's face it...the dude has always been fat, lazy and unmotivated.

However, I think he came to the Heat a different man. I mean, seriously, the guy lost a ton of weight. Yet...despite all of his flaws...he is a big body with soft hands who can score in the post. Isn't this why the Heat gambled on signing him this year?

I agree with the OP. Play him 12 consisent minutes per game in two 6 minute stints to see what he can do come playoff time. What can it hurt? I CERTAINLY would play him over the ancient J. Howard. Giving that dude minutes over anyone makes no sense to me at all!!!
