Do you guys think Spo is saving some plays for the PS?

From different radio shows I've listened to and magazines, I came to a conclusion that Spo might be saving some plays for the post season.

According to some reporters, Spo told the team to hold back on the run and gun style of play they were playing with before the All-Star break and slow down their tempo. One of the reasons, they say was that Spo thought they couldn't run through the entire lockout season like that without being gassed out before the end of the season.

They also said they wanted to use that opportunity to force the team to play at a slow pace in the halfcourt and see how we do.(this part is questionable though)

I think they might be keeping some plays/strategies for the post season. They might not want to be figured out already by other teams(the way Doc Rivers & Thibs gave tips to Rick Carlisle last year) before the finals.

What do you think?

I think some of us hoped this to be the case last year, but it didn't happen.

I personally believe he's waiting til the 2014 playoffs, right before the big three can opt out.

I too, have felt that this is what is happening this season, and kinda figured something similar would happen before the season started

No.

Watch LeBron on every single rebound / possession / turnover. The man is sprinting down the court like a freight train, often times the only one...

If Spo is telling the team to "slow" down, he sure as heck isn't telling LeBron.

Also. It isn't impossible to slow down Miami's transition game. I'm sure the other NBA coaches are riding their players to get back on defense ASAP.

Transition game is great to have, but in the playoffs, when teams pick up defense anyway, don't rely on 20 transition points a game. You absolutely need half court offense.

No, Spo aint that sophisticated.

But i do believe guys like Wade and Bosh dont go hard 100% during most of the regular season, they have an extra gear for the playoffs.

He is going to give Cole more minutes in the PS than Harris... and not adjust till we are about to lose the finals.

They gave Rick tips? :x
Is that even allowed?

I think they are holding back on their run and gun style so they wont be gassed out in the playoffs

I'd love to harbor any belief in this, but I don't buy it for a ****ing second.

Yes they did.

Deshawn Stevenson said it during the Finals last year in an interview. He was blabbing about how everyone wanted the Mavs to win.

You would hope so because the offense is still pretty basic, but I have a hard time buying that he's going to bring whole new sets of plays in the playoffs without having ever tried them out in the regular season.

He ain't saving ****.
All he knows is "we need to grind more". You'll hear that during a whole bunch of timeouts while the Heat get eliminated in the 2nd round.

I think Spo is saving some rotations for the playoffs. Plays though? We don't have any plays. We run a system. Like the triangle.

No. You know why? because this is what I believed LAST YEAR.

I thought Spo had things up his sleeve, and he didn't. It was just LBJ and Wade being more clutch. Nothing changed.

He didn't even use the LBJ/Wade pick and roll in the Finals. There's a difference between pick and roll and jacking up 3's.

the one thing he is definately saving for the playofs is the LBJ-Wade pnr. And if he is saving that, there is always the chance that he has more up his sleeve.
