You mean the section with like Heat, Marlins, Ira, etc? And the beat writers?

newspaper industry is going away, and this is their last ditch effort....its sad. Pay to read articles for a local newspaper? I hate it enough for the Wall Street Journal, but at least thats a nationally recognized newspaper.

yes sir, I noticed that on Monday, so I went to another computer to access the sections for free. It apperas that they install "cookies" on your computer and monitor your visits.
You will see the headlines, but as soon as you click on the article, the message I posted above will come on your screen. If I sue the computer in my TV room as I am now, I get the message, BUT when I access the page in my office, the message does not appear. This is because I don't view Sun Sentinel that much from my business computer

NYT is like that also - I read the headlines of about 10 papers daily - oh well, got to go to plan b.

Well that sucks... guess I'll just have to go to the Miami Herald and read Ira's stupid tweets... and the other Heat writers he has on his sulia or whatever the hell that thing is when his tweets are too long. lol.
I like to read the headlines too, especially sports and the Heat.
It's really lame they are going to make people pay, because no one in their right mind should. The same info always gets posted our basically hundreds of times on the internet. Other sources will have whatever the Sun-Sentinel has anyway. All these media guys refer to eachother anyway. Twitter nowadays seems to be better than the newspaper LMAO.

That really sucks. I can't say I blame them though. The newspaper industry is slowly fading away.
I can guarantee you I'm not paying for it though.

Forgot about "private browsing" I keep it on in my office - the versions of the browsers I used in my TV room didn't have private browsing, just upgraded
thanks

FROM ORL BOARD
Orlando Sentinel digital membership
Postby prorl on Sun Apr 15, 2012 2:48 pm
Have you guys noticed that Orlando Sentinel now charges for viewing the site online?
$12.99 for initial 5 week membership.
If you are a current subscriber its $6.99.
If you a 7 day paper subscriber you get it for free.
Personally, I believe the "private browser and cookie clearing" will be resolved, they know about it.
Anyway, just wanted to give guys a heads up

Private browsing should work if they let you have a free introductory period.
Also do Newspapers really think this will work?
They should use the ad-model not a pay-wall, especially with the abundance of free info out there.

Not to burst anyone's bubble but private browsing won't fix it I am pretty sure. They'd block based off IP address. Essentially you are blocking the computer from recording your browsing not the sites you visit. You'd need to use a proxy based service to get around it if you didn't want to pay. Who would pay to read IRA though

. I mean his opinion is fine and all but I can get free meaningful team feedback here

It's not just Sun Sentinel, a lot of the newspapers are going with this "digital subscription" model in the future

Ridiculous.
I've really enjoyed following IRA over the years but that's finished now. I've moved over to the fox sports network site.
