Mike Miller's 5 Million?

This team is not completely built around three players. The big 3 took less than the max so that Riley could have a piece to step up on a game like yesterday. Obviously that was supposed to be Mike Miller but he was caught at the dead end of his injury prone career.
Hindsight is 20/20 but who should have Riley went after in 2010 with that 5 Million?
Randy Foye?
Al Harrington?
Anthony Morrow?
Nick Young is looking like MJ right about know compared to the roles players on this team.

Should've kept Beasley and let Joel and Haslem go.

I dont know about Joel, at least he defends, Miller and Haslem dont do
anything. What did Riley do with the picks he got for Beasley?

It's really not fair to blame Mike and his millions, most of you were excited when we put this team together, but just step back and ask yourself..........What has changed(players) and what has been constant(coach/system). It's just that simple, we've been figured out, we rely on talent on offense.
It doesn't matter who we sign, we do not know how to utilize role players and rookies. We only want these role players to 'PLAY SIMPLE ROLES" nothing more. We only know how to feature star or 1st option players.
If any role player struggles to pick up our DEFENSIVE SCHEMES, their playing time is reduced or cut. This team judges role players by defense first. Not NBA defense, Miami heat defense. That's why JJ does not get playing time, he's labeled a "defensive liability" Instead of accenting what he CAN do, he gets punished for what he cannot.

How is it not fair to blame Miller? You are paid to produce and all he has done is be injured for months on end and brick open shots. Yesterday when he tried to handle the ball and make a move, he turned it over. I trying my hardest not to pile on him, but geez louis, do SOMETHING to help your team win.

I agree with you, of course he should produce, but let me ask you - why do you think he(and ALL the other role players, all of them) passes back to Lebron?

I hated every freaking signing especially the Mike Miller one since I knew his history. Mike Miller been sucked nobody should be making excuses for him.
Shane Battier = hated it because he can't score, he just a corner 3 shooter.
I rather would've just kept Beasley than get Miller. I don't believe in exchange young talented players for old hasbeen ones.
I mean, after a while fellas you gotta look at other rosters and benches around the league and realize yours just freaking suck.
I realized that the bench sucks and I cringe every time these dudes get the ball and take a shot.

My biggest disappointments were - extending this coach and letting Beasley go
We got to ride this thing out - hang in there

Because they can't dribble and the entire team is dependent on Lebron because the rest can't do anything but shoot outside of Chalmers, Cole and Wade.
We have a team full of standstill shooters.
The Heat organization built a crappy team. From the coaches to the players it's just full of fail.

IMO Mike Miller is the guy who should be blamed before Spo, before Lebron, before Wade, before anyone else.
He was supposed to come in and provide a proven reliable floor spacer, and occassional playmaking. Dude has NOT earned any of his money yet. He is the reason that this team isn't as great as it could be. I don't blame the other guys on the bench, they weren't supposed to be that good. Mike Miller is a former damn Olympian. Dude gets 5-8 shots per game. It's not crazy to expect him to make half of those, since they are almost all WIDE OPEN SHOTS.
Mike Miller should be a consistent 10 ppg scorer for us off the bench. There is NO excuse for how he has played for us. he's out there right now, he's healthy. Put the ball in the basket.
He needs to come early and stay late until he gets his shooting stroke back. He should be our Ray Allen. **** that dude until he decides to show up and earn his check. None of anything else would even matter if he would just step the **** up and do his damn job that he's paid to do a lot of money. He has not proven himself conclusively better than James Jones who makes almost the minimum. Or Eddie House, who we cut. That is who we need to hold accountable.
UD I give a pass because he's coming off a serious injury, and he does other things besides score. Though next season UD better be back to dropping that mid range jumper, otherwise he's just an undersized Joel.

I hate that you are right, when I isolate on UD and see EXACTLY what he does on offense before receiving a pass, I ask myself.....

A Coach usually can motivate individual players to me more assertive on offense, the fact that This coach said "he told miller to take 10 shots a game" makes me wonder where the breakdown in communication lies. Either Lebron ignores the calls, or he is tentative, hurt or a combination of this and other teams.

We do not have a team of standstill shooters. If we had a team of standstill shooters we would be obliterating teams every night. We have a team of standstill brickers who can't hit the broad side of the barn.
The organization built a fine team. No one on this team besides Lebron is being asked to do anything more than what they have done before in their career. Spo needs to hold people accountable. It's clear that our role players think they have a free ride. Spo needs to smash some heads, and Wade and Lebron need to embarrass some of these guys in front of the media like Dirk did last year with Jason Terry in the finals.
Mike Miller needs to be called out and challenged. Otherwise what's the point of playing him and not Terrell Harris? What's the point of him having a job here?
Too many fingers at the organization when it's the players who are letting us down. The plays are fine. The execution is what is lacking. It would be one thing if everybody was doing what they normally do, but we were still losing. But that's not the case. Everyone on this team isn't pulling their weight.

I am trying but I get pissed man. Miami Hurricanes went to crap, the Miami Heat went to crap after 05. Miami Dolphins is lol.
Now we got this team and they about to go to crap because Bosh got hurt now we can't even get a damn bucket. I was watching it last night and it was pathetic, I probably won't watch another game.
These Miami sports team organizational skills are just borderline horrible.
Kudos to getting the Big 3 but got damn man where's the creativity after that s***. The nepotism in the organization is ridiculous, knowing damn well Pat Riley obviously was playing Daddy and just did what his little children wanted.
The resigning of Haslem - his 1st child Wade's request
The resigning of Joel - His adopted favorite son Spo's request
The signing of Mike Miller - His stepson's Lebron request
Just tired of Miami being the laughingstock of the Sports World

Beat writer Joseph Goodman of the Miami Herald writes that Mike Miller is "obviously" playing with an injury.
"It was painful to watch him hobble around the court in Game 2," Goodman wrote. "I don't know how much more the Heat can get out of Miller this series." Miller is just 1-of-6 in the series and was limited to a mere 17 minutes in Game 2. LeBron James is poised to play a ton of minutes moving forward.

this Heat team is cursed

As limited as Joel is on the offensive end, he's been a beast on the defensive end. don't know why you'd want to get rid of him. he's not a center, but he could be moved to a back up power forward. no comment on Haslem.

I don't see how Beasley would have fit with the big three. I also know Mike Miller's history. And he's not been the player that he was with us. That's a fact. If he had been the worst of what he was in his career before the Heat, he'd still be worth what we paid for him.
As for Battier, that was the best signing so far. He gives us a wing defender to use so we can take Lebron off of top wings for a time period. My main issue with Shane is that his whole career he's been a money corner 3 shooter. Now he can't hit for ****. He has to make buckets. Just like Mike MIller. But unlike Mike Shane finds ways to contribute in other ways, and like a Joel, comes out and makes energy plays every night. I respect that.
It's not the signings we made that are the problem. It's how those guys have underperformed to a man all year long.
