Hate top admit it, but this time Kobe is right....

This is the kind of mentality i wish Lebron had. I dislike the guy, but imo this is what Lebron needs:
Kobe Bryant went 18-for-18 from the free throw line in the Lakers' gritty Game 3 win over Oklahoma City.

“I don’t give a [expletive] what you say,” Bryant told Yahoo! Sports late Friday. “If I go out there and miss game winners, and people say, 'Kobe choked, or Kobe is seven for whatever in pressure situations.' Well, [expletive] you.

“Because I don’t play for your [expletive] approval. I play for my own love and enjoyment of the game. And to win. That’s what I play for. Most of the time, when guys feel the pressure, they’re worried about what people might say about them. I don’t have that fear, and it enables me to forget bad plays and to take shots and play my game."

Agree completely. Lebron would be scary with that mentality. I liked him better when he thought he was the villian. Whether he likes it or not people out there still root for us to lose. That should fuel him.

LOL that's Kobe over time. Kobe cared until the rape case happened and now he just doesn't give a damn.

Kobe always wanted to be MJ so yeah he did things for approval. Now Kobe plays for himself and to chase
rings to beat MJ. He already loss the whole squeaky clean image with Shaq and the Colorado things.

Lebron just cares about his teammates too much.

That's who Lebron plays for. The reason why he went bananas when Wade was out was because he knew that his team can't win it without him trying to go for 30 with 8 rebounds and 8 assists. Wade comes in and he starts caring about who is getting shots and what not.

Lebron doesn't really care about when his game was getting critique, he cares when his character does.

If Lebron said f*** the team and just try to pull a Kobe or a Carmelo and go for 40 with 2 assists he probably could do it.

I think the article is referring more to taking clutch shots and not caring what the media says the day after. Kobe will basically shoot every shot to win the game whether he misses or makes it. Lebron needs a IDGAF attitude especially down the stretch instead of mostly deferring because he doesn't wonna take the heat for missing the final shot.

The thing is....LeBron was that way most of his time in Cleveland. Every now and then he would pass it off (the guys were wide open).

LeBron with the Heat...is just different..

Its like his time in Cleveland and all the pressure there (especially carrying mediocre talent)...its like it drained him of his swag, of his confidence, etc. etc.

The Heat need THAT LEBRON to show up. The guy who, lets be honest...was a jerk. He'd try to embarrass you....and then dance afterwards.

For what its worth...when he did decide to be a villain....He was nailing dagger shots against the Bulls/Celtics last year in the playoffs....

In the finals...he wasnt a villain, why? Cause he backed down to Jason Terry. smh.

Lebron is at this best when its a high profile team he hates. smh

Bulls, knicks, celtics, lakers

As much as know pacers are better than the knicks, we played harder against the knicks. Our role players were dialed in. Smh.

I'm not saying we aren't focused this series because I know lebron is but losing Bosh really hurt us. We need added fuel and motivation even when shorthanded.

I admire the Bulls for their fight. Half the shots wade took last game made me wonder where the hell this guys head is. Lebron not even aggressive in the 2nd half. Were it the knicks that would NEVER happen

Lebron just does what he needs to do.

If it was up to him dude probably wouldn't even crack 20 points a game.

With Wade there Lebron isn't gonna try to dominate with scoring.

I am sorry but as right now you want see that kind appoarch from Lebron. Lebron is a mommy boy, and it would take something tragic in his life to be that way. Kobe, Jordan, and magic always had that I don't give a F**k mind set on the court, and off the court on how they lived their lives. Everything in Bron life is safe, comfort, and routine.

Magic was called tragic magic because of his failures early in his career. Look up the 1984 NBA Finals.

So true. I still don't think they take this pacers team seriously yet. They better though because without Bosh it's pretty evenly matched.

Yet, something turned in his life. Reckless and gambling with life for magic the sex with woman, Jordan gambling, and Kobe the plight he put himself in woman accuse him of raped. All this reckless behavior, something Lebron has not shown. That why I say it will take something tragic in his life for him to have they mindset. He cares, he cares too much, and I feel like he think he got to much to lose, that he might lose himself. He see that kind mind set in his mother, someone he scared he might be like.

Early in his career failures...

Magic won a national title in college (1979) and the next year (1980) won a NBA title and was finals MVP as a ROOKIE.

Did you see his closeout performance in that finals? I remember it clearly. Magic played every position, Kareem was hurt and couldn't play. 42 pts, 15 reb, 7 ast, 3 stls

The minute Magic came to the Lakers, the Lakers were his team. He was always the undisputed leader.

Tragic Johnson talk especially in relation to or to contextualize LeBron's career failures/failings is completely dishonest.

LeBron is not even on Magic, Jordan, Bird, Hakeem, or Isiah's level.

LeBron is physical genius, he lacks the intangible those guys had.

It's probably because most of Lebron's childhood was anything but safe, comfortable, or routine. His mother was basically a crack whore and had him changing schools every few months. I mean he was eventually raised by an AAU coach.

Lebron's childhood was way rougher than Kobe, Jordan, and Magics--all those guys had stable families behind them, and in Kobe's case wealth.

He is the way he is, because the only family he could ever count on was his family on the basketball court-- and he's spent most of his career trying to recreate his high school/aau team where he was just having fun winning games with his friends.

To some extent I don't think he really minds or notices when he is personally disrespected. But if one of his teammates were being attacked, I think he'd stand up for them.

But yeah, I definitely miss the Lebron that would disrespect his opponents. Drop 40 on them, and then be dancing on the sidelines, coming up with crazy pre-game intros, and stuff like that. He should never have caved to media pressure and stopped that. That was his swagger and it also made his teammates more confident too.

Internet peeps trip me out calling people failures. Calling any man or woman career a failure are not you or anybody to judge. Right now Bron have not lived up to Magic and Jordan of the world, and compared to them his career has been a disappointment. You can save that level BS because he is right there with those guys. Overrated intangible BS, win titles thing got fall in place, the right ingredients something the big three have been missing since day one.

of course kobe cares otherwise he wouldn't invest so much emotion into expressing that he didn't care, including devaluing the people who attack him because he cares so much about their opinion that he needs to attack them back to feel content

I am talking about his life now. Comfort in his home life, raising his kids with their mother. He being the responable one, something his mother never showed. That's way he is so responable and safe out on the court. He has seen reckless behavoir his whole life that shizt right there scares him.

If Lebron said that imagine the reaction. Last year he told people they can hate him but they have to get on with their lives at some point and the haters actually got offended by that and the media blasted him

Lebron is Lebron. He has his own personality and way of approaching things. Constantly wanting him to be a clone of someone else is just dumb. There are many models of success not one.
