Cole was throwing the game away because he doesn't know how to take charges

Cole is a better defender against faster PG's, Rio doesn't have the lateral quickness

but Rio is a better offensive player for us than Cole.

Cole a better defender than Rio? Wow, things change quickly lol

And an even bigger LOL at OP for bashing Chalmers who is playing some of his best basketball those days.

Cole is certainly better at keeping quick guards in front of him just because of his better lateral quickness as DefenseWins pointed out. Overall, Chalmers is definitely the more productive player, but Cole can be an important piece to slow the likes of Collison and Barbosa down. To say he needs to start over Chalmers and play his minutes is ridiculous though. He doesn't have the scoring, let alone shooting abilities Rio has and those are important aspects of our team, especially with Bosh out.

yeah... Cole is better against quicker guards. He keeps up with them. Rio doesn't.

Rio is good at steals and whatnot. Rio can keep a guy like Jeremy Lin on lockdown who isn't crazy quick like Rose (... pre - ACL injury), but Rio gets burned a LOT. But because he is one of our best 3 point shooters and again, is more productive, he's out there. I wouldn't start Cole over him at all.

There were times where Cole looked good out there because of his defense, but today he couldn't freakin' take a charge and kept giving Collison and-1's.

Cole is also better at getting at the rim AT TIMES, but will get blocked 80% of the times...

Had a post type out but DWadeno3 basically summed up my thoughts.

Cole can stay in front of Hill and Collison a bit better, but that doesn't make up for the difference in offensive production between he and Chalmers.
