How did that Philly team with no superstars and a bad offense take Boston to 7 and almost win but we have 2 superstars and are struggling to beat them? The sixers played Bostin man to man because they knew their athleticism would give the celtics trouble. We bail out their offense by doubling the pick n roll up top. If the trapping big man is late to recover, Rondo will make that pass to KG 9 times out of 10.
Nobody can say we didn't try hard tonight but for some reason it was like they knew how to pick apart our defense.

all about matchups, heat matchup so much better against philly. whereas philly matches up nice aganist boston.

How did Cleveland and Atlanta take the 08' Champion Celtics to 7 and then they thoroughly dispatched the Lakers in the finals?

Philly is very quick. Us being an athletic team is a mirage.

It's just Wade and LeBron. Battier lost a step, Miller's back is killing him, Mario has no lateral movement, etc etc.

Philly also doubled Pierce a lot of Pierce was playing really bad when that happened.

But yeah, it's our personnel. We also overhelp, overhedge as well.

UD at Center also sucks.

I know this is leading to Spo, but Doug Collins offense sucks. It's worse than ours. We have stars to bail us out. This is what we look like when LBJ and Wade aren't in god mode. Hard for LBJ specifically to go into god mode playing the whole 2nd half.

Play man to man and getting back on defense.

Wade hardly gets back and we over help on everything. Boston needs ball movement to score and our defense forces you to move the ball if you want to score.

oh man, the defense was bad tonight in some spurts.

Wade's block on Bass was epic but only for a Pietrus 3 which hurt....

we also got out-hustled

those were minors things that led to this loss, but Philly is better defensively against Boston than us.

This is basically what i was eluding to. We have just as much versatility as philly does but yet we chose to overhelp and trap everybody that doesn't need to be. We have excellent individual defenders as well.

They defended the three main positions well.

Brand played great defense on KG
IGGY did his thing against pierce
Ray Allen was injured
Pietrus was non existent , suddenly dooling and Pietrus hit every shot they need Smh

Our transition defense sucks, we didn't get the 50/50 balls and Bosh should have played game 4, that 1 day didn't matter

game 4 was won by the refs and perhaps they hit their 3pts???? and didn't rely on 2 players....wade or bosh need to have a solid game and battier needs to make a damn 3pointer

Quite simply, they guarded Rondo! They didnt do the stand 10 feet off Rondo thing that everybody seems to think is a great idea!

true. Mario is also a good stealer but he cannot defend quick guards....

our defense is designed poorly against Boston.

It's like "if Rio fails, just collapse on Rondo"

but Rondo is unselfish, he will pass to someone if we collapse. That kills us.

Philadelphia has a real defense that doesn't require help. And they played their hearts out.

What did Philly do right? They didn't have a choke artist like Lebrick James on their team. Trade Jim, get a good center. That's all Wade needs to win a ring. In fact, Lebrick's sissy play and disappearing act in 4th quarters seems to be affecting even Wade's confidence. Send the Queen back to Cleveland or wherever the hell else you want. We don't have a place for chokers, whiners and sissies in Miami. We are winners, and of one thing's for sure, it's that Lebron will never win a ring.

Philly played good defense and played their hearts out...

Wade needs to show up like he did in the Pacers series if the Heat want to win...

SMH, it's ridiculous how much room they give him to operate. to his credit, Cole's defense is pretty decent on Rondo. Chalmers on the other hand is a joke.

It's a reason why when Cole is in the game the entire intensity of the team's defense goes up 10 fold!!! Um... Spo and the other idiots on the floor who guard Rondo, he's actually being guarded when Norris is in the game!!!! Why can't everybody else on the Heat's team and coaching staff see that too???? Guard that man!!!! Crazy...
