Hey guys...long time lurker so this is my first post.
Considering the Celtics have no shot against us tonight, and this baby is already wrapped up. How do you think the Thunder match up against us?
I think if you look at it objectively they have only a few things over the Heat.
Head Coach- Scott Brooks vs Spo
I love the way Brooks coaches, I think he gets the most out of his players (except Westbrook at times) Spo...not so much however I would say at times he tries to over coach which screws with the tempo of the Miami offensive schemes. However, he has at time outcoached Doc Rivers in this series which really isn't that difficult since one coach makes adjustments (Spo) and the other one doesn't (Rivers) during halftime.
Advantage: THUNDER
Backcourt
You have the two main players for the Thunder- Westbrook and Harden vs Wade and Chalmers
Normally you would have to give the edge to the Thunder due to what both have accomplished this year, but Chalmers has been so clutch and at times has outplayed Rondo in the ECF. I'll give this one to OKC because of the fact Wade might be hurt otherwise this would be the Heat running away.
Advantage: THUNDER
Forward
Miami - LBJ/Bosh
OKC- Ibaka/KD
This is the meat and potatoes of this match up that everyone wants to see, King James vs Durant. Both have played at a high level for years but...LeBron has that extra gear that Durant will never have, if he can show that killer instinct like he did to put us past Boston then there is no stopping the best player the league has seen since Jordan (yeah I said it...its true look at the numbers) Just to physical and too big to play against on defense.
I give the power forward edge to Ibaka if Bosh is still hobbled otherwise its a slight Miami edge. Ibaka is a good player I like him he plays hard every minute he's in...but he isn't Chris Bosh. Bosh when he is on (hasn't been often albeit) can also take over a game. Since I think Bosh is healhy I'll go with Miami.
Advantage: Miami
Center
Perk vs our dreck...
Advantage: OKC
Bench
This one is very easy, Norris Cole/Battier/Miller is better than anyone OKC currently has on their bench. Miller can still at times when hes on hit a 3 point shot like no ones business.
Prediction: I think it will be an interesting series on paper but the Heat are the best team in the NBA and will show it, third time is a charm for King James who will eventually pass Jordan as the greatest player in NBA history but to do that he needs titles...he needs to build on his brand. I want to say Heat in Five but I'm giving OKC two of their home games due to the probable let down with Game 1 since OKC has had more time to rest.
HEAT in Six.
