We are no longer in need of a PG

I am thrilled with what we have in Mario Chalmers and Norris Cole. Let's focus on the Big man/Center now, because Chalmers and Cole are going to be just fine

I always wanted a Center rather than a PG. I always thought Wade and LBJ were just our PG's. I was fine with that.
Needing a PG was never really a problem.
but yes, Rio is now a legit threat and just makes us better
Cole off the bench next year is going to be so good. He hit a rookie wall but his speed man, will help us. WIth practice and a training camp and whatnot, he will be better.

They are both the bravest most aggressive players u could want. With our Big 3, this is EXACTLY what we need next to them. Chalmers is a perfect fit and Cole's speed makes the sky the limit for this kid

I agree to an extent, now if Nash becomes available you just can't say no.

Still need a center and more athletic bench players
Bosh & Lebron will only get better (plus our young PG's)

Yes I wouldnt turn down Nash if he wanted to sign, but i dont believe we should get rid of cole or chalmers to make it happen

You don't need an elite point guard to win a championship. Our passing during this series was very good. Just very fluid.

We're lucky because Rio thinks he's the best player on the team, plus him/Cole aren't afraid to take big shots.

That said, if Nash wants to come here, he's the number 1 free agent to get.
Especially since we now know we have Chris Bosh who is a dominant NBA center(who knew?).
Nash
Wade
Battier
Lebron
Bosh
Bench:
Rio
UD
Mike or JJ
That's a nice 8 man rotation. With the opportunity during the season to continue to develop Pittman, whatever Rookie we draft, Harris, and Cole. Good mix of young and old.

I'd still take Nash. We should be jettisoning Juwan, one of Pittman/Turiaf/Curry and possibly Miller. We'll have roster slots open, and it would be nice to have Cole and Rio backup a HoFer.
However, I agree with the OP. We're in great shape with Rio and Cole as our PG rotation. PEACE.

I think we can all agree that a PG is not our top priority with Mario improving like he has, but if we can get a real proven guy to play some minutes at PG it would'nt hurt.
only 2 guys i would really take are Nash and Jason Terry, and Terry doesnt even have to be a starter, he'll back up both Wade and Rio.
Now Lets get some Bigs..

Even though this is a younger team than what we had post-2006, Riley and company should not hesitate to improve the team. Having guys that are up there in age and are hungry/desperate to win is a good thing.
If a guy like Nash wants to come, you bring him in ASAP.
Chalmers/Cole is solid. If we come back with those two at PG next season I'll be alright with that. Cole will come back a better player next season. Getting Nash will put him back seat only for a year.

The way Rio played in the playoffs I would only take CP3 Rose or DWill over him he's moved into an upper echelon tier of point guards. I would rate him higher than Rondo for a team like this, he's more clutch and quite honestly came through in the clutch when he was needed to. Better jump shooter and more confidence as someone posted he feels hes the best on the team...you need to feel that way if you're going to be the QB of this team. All this talk about Nash is unwarranted unless he wants to sign on as the 7th man (its pretty much a lock that Ray Allen is coming to town as the 6th man), DO NOT REPLACE RIO...EXTEND HIM!!!!

I like the different dynamic that Rio and Cole give us. They both do something different and the sky is the limit for them. I think the C should be prority #1.

Yeah, Center is still the position we need most help in.
We all know Bosh doesn't like guarding true centers
Then again, there are only like 2-5 true centers left in this league

Is it possible to get 2 people? I personally would want Dalembert with Terry or Allen, more of Allen but I doubt he takes that little money. Also add in Tmac or Vince Carter if he takes like vet or something? He aint bad to get a few points when Battier and Miller playing bad.

I don't understand how this is still a discussion. I've never seen a clearer situation than this for a team. Let me break it down one last time (from my point of view):
What do we need?
- PG: Do we need one? No, Chalmers/Cole/LeBron/Wade can get the job down without a problem. Would Nash be a big acquisition? Is this even a question? Nash is still playing like a Top3 PG and would be a huge boost for this team. He could come from the bench and anchor the whole game with LBJ out, he could be on the floor on crunch time, he could play the PnR with Bosh/LeBron, he could learn Chalmers/Cole a thousand things, etc. Yes, if we can get him take him, but we don't need any other new ball handler.
- Position 2-3: all depends on the future of Miller/Jones. If one or both retire we absolutely need to replace him/them. Nice acquisitions would be Terry and Allen or any other good spot-up 3pt shooter. If none of both retires, we should still try to get Allen. He's the GOAT-3pt shooter and Miller is injured at all time.
- Position 4: no need for backups.
- C: Do we have any average center on this team? No. Curry isn't an option and will probably never be one and Turiaf is at best a backup center. Joel shall (and will) remain on this team, he can bring a lot defensively and is a rather quick C. He got some nice post moves in the last months too. Pittman is a work in progress, if we get a new center he should take Turiaf's spot. If there is one position where we really need an upgrade it's this one. We should go after a massiv center (weight), who is a good defender and has good hands. He can't be our weak point on defense and has to be able to catch passes (unlike Joel).
Coach: Spo needs to / and will remain headcoach. Said it all season long and will continue to say it: he's a great coach. He needs to improve his in-game adjustments, play call out of TO and clutch-situations. For the rest he's an absolute beast at his age/experience and has proven to be the right coach beside egos like Wade/James.
Other: Juwan Howard. This guy has to remain on this team. I don't care as what (assistant, 14th man, Gatorade-boy, ...). His an anchor point, a coach-player, the co-badass on this team along with Haslem. KEEP THIS MAN!

I just don't see the need for Nash. We have two very capable ball handlers in Wade/James, and Chalmers/Cole are much, much better defenders than Nash is.
We play a defensive game, that creates opportunities for fast breaks. At what stage is Nash going to be able to play Heat defense??? Nash isn't a Heat guy. If he were 30 and not 38, then we might be having a different conversation. Adding him, and trying to integrate him, while postponing Cole's development wouldn't make a lot of sense.
