F%*& Rashard Lewis.
I want Elton Brand. He signed an offer with the Heat years ago.
He should/might still be interested in playing for Riley.
(if only I could find an animated GIF with Colbert saying "give it to me now")

EB sucks.
I livei n Philly now.
Hes slow. He doesnt rebound.
He averages what he averages because they play him long enough to hit a few outside jumpers.
Hes a shorter, fatter, slower, worse, older Chris Bosh.

I live in the Philly area as well and see him play often. He might not be what he used to be, but the guy is still better than any PF / C on this team not named Chris Bosh. He would be a clear upgrade.
With that said, I highly doubt he clears the amnesty waivers because some team is going to throw at least the minimum at him.

So did I say he was an All Star ?
He averaged 14 ppg, 9 reb and 2 blk per 36 minutes while shooting 50% on FG.
Looks like a damn good back-up to me, or even a starter if Bosh plays C.
And out of all the potential FA's on the market, Brand is the best.
Give me Brand, Ray Allen and Camby and call it a summer. Or just Brand and Allen and I'll still be VERY happy.

Sadly, we can't get him.

If we get him, this can make the way (hard to do) to trade/move UD for another piece.

We should really just forget this. There's absolutely 0 chance this guy clears waivers. Literally none. Mavericks already have reported interest in him, and I don't think, given the state they're in, that they'll have a problem throwing at least a couple dollars in there.
Nothing to see here.

Elton Brand would be a great bench contributor maxing out at 20 minutes per game.
Maybe the occasional 25 minutes in a blowout.
He's a leader with a nice mid-range shot, but Rashard Lewis would still be the better player to get.
He can shoot off the catch with a range behind the arc, and create off the dribble a little bit.

Was Brand that bad that the Sixers couldnt trade him for some pieces? Brand is definitely on the decline.

He's not gonna pass waivers and we don't have any money to offer him

Like others have said, can't imagine him passing through waivers.

Brand is still not too shabby defensively. If he passes we'd be up there in contention. IF.

And if we magically had money to offer him too? I still wouldn't want him. Give it to camby

I could see him going to the Lakers if he wants to make a run at the title.

Another team with cap space will absolutely 100% put a bid on him.
