Why didn't the Heat go after Reggie Evans?

I know Reggie Evans isn't an offensive juggernaut but he's a nasty defender that can play the Center position. I know what's done is done but dang Evans contract was for three-years at only $5 million.
I don't know if the Heat could of fit Reggie into the cap but he could of helped big time in my opinion. Comments?

Wouldn't fit into the cap. Very similar to Joel. No need for him.

No offense to Joel Anthony but Reggie Evans is a much better player in my opinion.

He's as tall as Lebron
We have this guy named Udonis Haslem on this team
There's a reason Evans hardly played vs the Spurs, and they still were swept

How could that possibly be the case when you just said in the original post that Evans has no offensive game (like Joel) but is a "nasty" defender.
Look up these guys individual defensive stats as well as the LAC defensive efficiency with Evans on the floor compared to MIA with Joel, then come back and tell all of us who the better player is.

That is irrelevant when you compare the players that Joel was playing with to the players that Reggie was playing with. Great players make other players better and the Heat lineup crushes the Clipper lineup.

He's basically a Joel that gets rebounds instead of blocking shots. meh.

Reggie Evans is a poor mans Udonis Haslem. Why make a move for a player if we have a more versatile version of him. Evans and Joel are not the same type of player, two different skill sets.

He is not that great of a defender but he is a good rebounder.

Or alternatively, he's basically Haslem with no offensive game at all. That's too much money to pay for an undersized dude who wouldn't crack the rotation most nights. Especially with what we already pay Joel.
