Andray Blatche: Am I crazy?

Am I crazy in saying that I would seriously consider getting this guy for the vet minimum if he clears waivers?

He is 6"11 , 270, and has mobility, range and dribbling skills. He would definitely space the floor and could be our starting center.

I believe he could be a taller version of what Antoine Walker was for us in our 2006 finals run.

He played with a bunch of kids in Washington and this amplified his immaturity. I honestly believe on the right team, he could be servicable. He averaged 17 and 8 only a season before the last.

People may say he's not a Pat Riley type of guy, but I don't think he is anywhere near as bad as what the media and Washington fans make him out to be.

So what do you think? Am I crazy?

Well, you're crazy no doubt..but i might join you in the asylum.

Lets look at the other option left on the table :

1.Ronny Turiaf - decent option, but he's injury prone.
2.Darko - a real head case, might quit on the NBA.
3.Joel Przybilla - looks done, didnt want to join us last season
4.Kenyon Martin - old and undersized, but not a bad option.
(Oden is a project, you cant count on him playing this season).

The positive about Blatche :

Andray Blatche is still only 25 years old.
He has legit size - a very long 6"11 frame.
He's the most talnted option (scored 17 points with 8+ rebounds a game the season before last).
He's healthy and ready to play big minutes if needed.

THe negative about Blatche :

He's a punk.

To me, If Riley can have a serious sit down and get to him, it's worth checking if the guy is ready to turn his career around. getting amnestied might be the wake up call he needed. If anyone can make it work, it's Riley.

Yes you're crazy.

We've officially hit the point where the suggestions at this point are so ridiculous I just want the offseason to end. 3 more months...

his attitude and work ethic are poisonous.

but if there was an organization which could change him, it would be the Heat.

Every decent ball player is not gonna be a good fit with the Heat system, Blatche is no different. Chucker and a Low IQ basketball player, no thanks. The problem with alot of these players ya'll name is it's clear it's all about stats and measurables, and not about actually watching guys play, they don't pass the eye test. Look at this, you just said Blatche could be our starting center. What in the hell? The guy plays no defense and averages 5 boards a game for his career, we'd be better off rolling out Bosh and Haslem at the 4 and 5

Yeah no. He would be a terrible signing.

I think we're going to let the summer league team fill in the last two roster spots.

Hell no. One of the least cerebral players in the game today.

No. Doesn't play defense and wouldn't help us.

This

From the awful trade suggestions to the "let's pick this guy up if he clears waivers because he's almost 7 feet tall" ideas and to the "No, pittman is 6 ft. 11 in. Not 6 ft. 10 in." arguments, I cannot wait until the season starts.

Seriously. I don't know where this desperation comes from.

As long as we're tossing out suggestions, why don't we go and salvage the DNA of great centers from the past and have a Serpentor-type addition at the 5?

Christ, people.

LOL unfortunately it's gonna be like this til October. Can't wait til then. My feeling is the roster we have right now, is gonna be the same in October. Meaning, no additions or subtractions.

Blatche has problems im surprised he kept it together this long. Attitude problems in HS and College im not surprised he didnt change in the pros. He does have ability and goes hard when he is interested but his attitude has always been his downfall. Heat need to stay away from him.

I mean, why not transplant actual cancerous cells to our players while you're at it?
