Lebron and Ray already sparking each others competitiveness

Great to see these guys going at eachother after the 3rd day of training camp (half court shots in video, was longer got cut off). Nothing but positive.

Also here is Lebron talking about the competitive nature (Says this is the best shooting team I ever been apart of)

Ray praising the amount of shooting ability this team has

I'm loving this training camp. Thoughts so far? I could not be happier with what I see so far.
More videos appreciated.

Honestly man I haven't been this excited for a Miami Heat season since 05.
The way these players are talking coming out of day 3 of training camp is so uplifting.

The competitiveness. Players trying to prove to eachother they are the best. NO one wanting to lose. Everyone on the team practically other then maybe 1-2 players being CHAMPIONS. It's such a good feeling. I really feel Miami has a chance at a 70 win season this year. That might be me being a little too optimistic but I feel it.

Yeah I see it around 58-62 wins. We won't push enough with the questionable health and LeBron's workload.

70 def a push but i'm optimistic.

Worst case scenario I see is 68-13 and them taking down a win streak record.

I see us somewhere in the 58-62 range.

LeBron is right though this is most definitely the best shooting team he has been a part of... I mean just look at the list:

-Ray Allen
-Rashard Lewis
-Shane Battier
-Mario Chalmers
-Mike Miller
-James Jones

That's 6 guys that are capable of getting hot and destroying your team from the 3 point line. Just look at what Battier, Chalmers, and Miller (Game 5 vs the Thunder, anyone?) were able to do in the playoffs... Add Lewis and Ray to the equation and it's pretty much an unstoppable offense.

Might be able to add Cole to that list. Some beat reporters have commented on his improved jumpshot, and Ray Allen mentioned him as one of the great shooters on the team. I got my fingers crossed that it's true. Cole with a jumpshot is a problem for the rest of the league. PEACE.

Not to mention, even Cole said he feels incredibly confident in it. He said if teams leave him open from 3 this year "I'll shoot it and knock it down." All the reps he got doing two-a-days all summer should really help. He was a better shooter last year than his numbers indicate, if that makes sense.

Bosh was also left off that list. He won't be behind the line as much as some Heat fans might think, but even those long twos are great release valves. If UD really is back, his jumper creates the same release.

LeBron had his best statistical season with Mo and Delonte lighting it up from 3. Hopefully for once here he can have at least one shooter hot all season long.

Do you guys think we'll lead the league in 3FG% and makes? I definitely think we'll be up there.

I think we'll be up there. Hard to say lead. There will be teams who will at least shoot more 3's than us, since we still will focus on shots at the rim.

IIRC, we were in the top 5 in terms of 3pt% for the vast majority of last season which seemed to surprise a lot of outsiders. This team will definitely maintain and improve upon that.

Exactly. Surprised me, too. I think we'll be closer to the top in % than makes. How often did we see 0-7 or 2-9 3-pt performances from our team last year? We've never relied on it a whole lot. I think adding potentially more reliable shooters will help us a lot. We still haven't seen LeBron with those kinds of weapons here.

I don't know about leading the league. There are teams that attempt way more than us. Doesn't necessarily mean more makes but still. There are some chuck-3-point teams and I don't think we'll be one of them. It's going to be a weapon for us, but not chucking. We already were up there last year I believe. Now adding Lewis and the best 3 point shooter of all time, we can definitely be in the top 5. Hopefully Mario, Cole get better too.

We were in the top 10 in the regular season for 3pt %, at number 10 basically.

However, were in the bottom 20 in 3 point shots attempted and 3 point shots per game. Now if those go up, depending on how many makes we get, we'd be in the top 5.

Also when our 3 point people picked up, we went from 15.6 3 pointers attempted, to 19.7 in the playoffs. I expect the regular season numbers to go up.

All that sticks with me from last season are all the times Lebron / wade/ bosh free'd up the 3 point line for our shooters and they did not produce to what was expected of them. Of course Miller showed up very late but showed up regardless. I can only imagine now having Ray, Rashad, revived Miller and a prime Chalmers taking the open shot. I see nothing but improvements in every single category for the Heat.

True Heat fans. I would be VERY excited if I were you.

With that said, tomorrow (today technically 1am) we will get to watch the red vs white game at 7 est. A good estimate at the general role guys plan on playing. Should be fun.

Don't forget Battier, who took so long to come around because he "celebrated the lockout more than our championship."

I remember Shane struggling as well. The first half of the season, was our best basketball. After the break, NOBODY could hit anything. Even LeBron had off-games. The 3 point shooters definitely weren't even there. The defense, offense, everything was so bad. But that 1st half, I remember Mario ballin' from the 3 point line. Cole hitting some shots, Shane AT THAT TIME was either streaky or just bad. Miller came to the party late, but wasn't attempting at a high volume. So much of our shooters were just passing it up too.

But one thing about Ray Allen, which is what I love about his addition to this team, HE WILL NOT HESITATE. So many times our players would hesitate, this man doesn't. He has taken some of the craziest shots lol.

You nailed it DW. Miller is always afraid of the big, momentous, or open shot. Ray eats all that **** up.

Its funny, I remember Breen chuckling during the late playoffs when we starting drilling 3's, because we were known as a team that didn't make many. Everyone expects a 180 from that this year. If it comes into fruition, LeBron is going to have a field day.

I just realized something:

We actually have a designated FT shooter now with the addition of Ray Allen! NO MORE SENDING MARIO TO SHOOT TECHNICAL FTs!!!!

Wow! How long has it been since we've had a reliable one? J-Will was the last one I can remember trusting blindly.
