2 Years of Speculation- Newfound respect for Cavs fans?

Post#1 » by MiaHeat88 » Sat Oct 20, 2012 1:35 pm

It's already starting. One week in to the preseason and the Lebron 2014 talk has begun, despite our championship run and seemingly easy path to the Finals again this year and in the foreseeable future.

This got me thinking about the pre-decision, and all the crap Cavs fan had to endure, primarily from the sports media and pundits like ESPN that were constantly discounting Cleveland and even setup Lebron trackers with pictures of Lebron in NY Knick, Bulls and Maverick jerseys. This all during the midst of playoff runs.

Must of sucked for them and it will suck for us these next two years, especially if Lebron decides to leave Miami. The chorus of the media members that hate Miami and hate the fact that Lebron didn't choose Chicago or some other "premier" NBA city will start to reach a fever pitch, ESPECIALLY if we don't win the next two championships.

Spo seems like the type of coach that would eliminate the noise from the outside media, but it will take a lot of effort given what is coming our way. The article by Brian Windbag will be the first of many to come out

The East is in decline. If healthy, Miami can waltz to the finals this year.

That's pretty disrespectful to a lot of teams and given that there've been plenty of upsets in NBA history, a statement which shouldn't be mad. More than anything, however, it discredits the efforts of our team and our Big Three in particular, because reaching the Finals is never easy.

Regarding the "respect for Cavs fans", I don't care about any talk, I care about facts and as long as LeBron James is wearing a Heat jersey, this talk doesn't affect me. You gotta be pretty soft if rumors of what might happen in two years cause headaches for you now. The only difference between us and Cleveland fans is that they desperately needed their management to get LeBron some help, whereas we're in a position where we have the best team in the league.

OP.. this topic has to be put to rest.. It will die down once the regular season starts and the Lakers show their vulnerabilities..

Both the situations are extremely different.. and people need to understand that..
LeBron has been in Miami for 2 YEARS only..

He Played in Cleveland for 7 years..
Miami is not Cleveland.. Hid supporting cast is not washed out or a bunch of D-Leaguers.. Nor did anyone Bang his Mom here..
He just went through he painful process aftermath of the Decision and finally won a ring..
His best Friends are here.. The weather.. Night Life.. this that..

People who even speculate about this have to be lacking in perception..

I'm not saying by any stretch that I fear Lebron leaving Miami. But I can predict the media chatter, which will eerily resemble what happened in Cleveland his last two years.

even at the end of the 2010 playoffs, alot of people still put their money on lebron staying in cleveland
how much more if he actually has a successful team that can win multiple championships in that time period?
the transfer talk only amplified because the cavs kept failing in the playoffs

Fair enough guys. I swore off BSPN and the national pundits after Lebron came here.. I really should avoid them at all costs..

Newfound respect? I am sure they didn't feel well about their best player getting so much attention and being baited to basically leave. We don't like that Lakers rumor. But what made Cavs fans look bad was AFTER LeBron left. Things like this happen anyway. I mean what about the Orlando Magic fans? Look at what happened with Dwight. Dwight put them through hell besides the media messing with them. Pictures of Dwight in a Laker uniform. And look what happened.

I doubt Heat fans would act like how Cavs fans acted. I think many would be sad, but grateful be brought a 2nd title (he didn't bring a title to Cleveland, probably why they were bitter, we shouldn't be like that) to the organization. And one of the best post-seasons we have seen from a Heat player not named Wade. Then the first MVP in a Heat uniform. First guy since MJ to win a MVP, title and olympics. That's all in the Heat history.

ESPN is just trying to rile up crap. Also LeBron when he was in Cleveland was frustrated he didn't win a title and wasn't in the best position to win. He LEFT Cleveland for rings. He got it here. It's just different to me.

As long as Wade is here, LeBron isn't going anywhere. if anything, his departure will happen via trade, after Wade retires.

30/10/6 on 50% is one of the best post seasons we have seen of any player. RS MVP, Finals MVP, and Olympic Gold all in one run. These are all significant milestones he was able to accomplish in a short period as a member of The Heat. The dude has made his mark, and this core is just getting started. One is a winning organization, the other is not.

Chris Paul and Lebron may be best friends but the idea of Paul, James, Howard out in LA on the same team is a PIPEDREAM. The media will write anything to get a story.

I wouldn't count out the competitors of the East either. You just never know what can happen, and teams have gotten better.

Thank you. I don't get it... Why would James leave Miami to go to Lakers or even back to his old team. After the what the dude been through... No other Athlete in History IMO got crucified like LeBron Raymone James did.. I SURE IN HELL know he wouldn't want to go through it again.. and again him leaving off to Lakers is absurd. Chasing rings in his prime will ruin his legacy completely. Dude is winning here, all that matters.

Not even worried. Too far off to care, and if we got a dynasty by then, no way he leaves. PEACE.

What's hilarious is after all the **** talk about lebron from teams and media they're all lining up to get on his Dick again in free agency.

All those **** talking fans will be begging him to join their team.

I think he will stay here. He didn't want to really leave clev. But he had to to get a title. He has that now. And pat is going to keep this team good.

Id be more worried about bosh leaving for the lakers

Listen, Our big three isn't going anywhere soon. Lebron already dismissed the Laker talk anyways.

Since he came here we've been to 2 straight Final's apperences. Our team is only getting better.

Lebron's contract will never reach within 2 years of expiring without this BS coming up. My advice is to man up and enjoy the ride. Lebron signed to play with us for exactly as long as his contract says (player options included). The last thing I want is to go down like Dan Gilbert acting like his bf just dumped him.
