Should Chris Bosh become Miami's second option?[Poll]

Thoughts?

Wade is still a great player and can dominate a game IF he is on that night, if he isn't on it is like beating a dead bird. But what the Heat are doing with Bosh is a crime. The night he scored 40 points Spole admitted himself that they only ran 2-3 plays for him the entire night, the rest came because Bosh was running the offense to perfection.

I feel like Wade would be a lot more useful playing the role of running with the offense, roaming the floor, fighting for the extra rebounds and keep his man on his toes rather then getting the ball in a 1 on 1 situation all the time.

I don't know the exact stat but i'm sure when Bosh gets the 2nd most touches the Heat have a great winning %.
This doesn't mean every night Wade has to take a backseat, rather if Wade comes out hot give him the ball, if Bosh comes out hot give him the ball. Etc. Rotate.

Just curious as to the Heat fan base's thoughts.

I wouldn't have a problem with it. Bosh fills the role of a 2nd option extremely well as indicated by the 15-2 record without Wade last year. On the other hand, Wade is still a 1st option on the majority of teams in this league and one turrrrible (Barkley voice) game doesn't change that. I've learned over the years you can kind of expect this from Wade now. Many nights he'll look untouchable out there, other times? more like trash. This thread was probably brought up due to last night but remember Bosh has had a poor shooting 8 point game this season as well (2/10), albeit on 5 less shots and 10 less minutes played than Wade's Grizzlies stint.

Its just 6/82 games in the season so for now I'll rack up Wades play as a rough night against a really good team...but there's no question Bosh is just as CAPABLE of being a "2nd option" as Wade is. You have a team of 3 guys who could all be 1st options somewhere else, so considering the idea of a greater emphasis on Bosh isn't an unreasonable thing to do.

I think right now he should be, Wade is still getting back into the swing of things and his shot hasnt been all that great. Keep him fresh and healthy for the playoffs so he can attack and be ready.

You people are too obsessed with this options thing. Learn basketball, understand our offense and then think if this topic makes sense. As evidenced by recent games, we don't have 1st, 2nd or 3rd options. One night it's LeBron, one night it's Bosh, one night it's Wade, it doesn't really matter. When Bosh scored 40, he was clearly our go-to-guy and rightfully so because that night, he was by far our best player on the court. When Bosh had a bad showing against Brooklyn, he clearly wasn't and we still scored a lot of points. That's not an issue at hand, as whatever guy is feeling it will receive enough opportunities to score. If there's one thing I enjoy this year, it's that we truly have an equal-opportunity offense and are not so centered on LeBron and to a lesser degree Wade anymore.

With that being said, my concern is that the Big Three are hiding behind our shooters within this new offense. They trust these guys for too long in games and when our outside shots are not falling, as they weren't against Memphis and New York, we get embarrassed because aside of our offense becoming stagnant, we also allow our opponents multiple fastbreaks since our transition defense has been atrocious. Re-watch the Memphis and New York game and look at how many transition or semi-transition baskets both teams received because they were getting long rebounds from all the missed outside shots. You obviously gotta wait until the playoffs to judge this team properly, but if this becomes a trend, this could cause problems in the postseason.

Short answer: yes

Heat were 19-3 last year when Bosh scored 20 or more points in the regular season. 2-0 in the playoffs.

Heat need to restablish the 1st Option, No more Ego-Less Basketball when needing some points. Lebron/Wade/Bosh were all nowhere to be found in the knicks, Memphis when needing to score. I mean Ray allen running a fast break with lebron right behind him? Hes getting a little to comfortable in this offense

This is partially what I was saying too. I don't have a problem with the ego-less-offense, I actually like it, I just don't want the Big Three to hide behind it. When we struggle to score, those are the guys who have to look to score within that offense.

Would rather him be the first, even Spo said how effortless his 40pt game was. Obviously this thread was made because Wade had a bad game, let's not make a thread saying should "Allen take a bigger role" if Bosh has a bad game one day as well.

But like I said personally I'd like the Heat to look at Bosh first and let LeBron and Wade play off him since they have the ball whenever they want.

It looks like he is already. Ball finds Chris easily and no 5 in the league can guard him.

He is also more consistent than wade.

I wish wade would get back to his old self. Hate worrying game to game what wade is going to show up.

Maybe if he committed hmself to the defensive side and became our stopper that would be something

Man tonight is a perfect **** example/.

Bosh drops 10 points EASYILY in the first quarter on Houston. Comes out the first with FOUR minutes left. We are now 4 minutes left in the SECOND and Bosh got his first touch . FIRST touch of the 2nd with only 4 mins left.

So disgusting how Spole uses him.

Not only did this push towards the notion of Bosh should be the 2nd option but Lebron James just put up one of the best half's i've seen in years.

They don't think that way. Sure LeBron is the point forward, but they're about the hot hand and whomever is open to make a shot.

I'm tired of seeing Dwyane Wade getting crapped on, same thing last year.

He is not getting crapped on. Bosh is in his prime and it is being wasted. Wade is amazing, but his style of play and age does not fit for this Miami Heat team. He is past his prime and the staff should adjust. He will always be one of the best players in the league but when you have a player like Bosh who can be used in so many different ways but isn't because we have Wade, we got to single someone out.

And how is he being wasted? Do you think he doesn't receive enough touches? Minus the Rockets game, Bosh has a USG% of 26.2, pretty much the same as Wade's 26.5 and a little less than LeBron's 28.1%. Bosh is receiving plenty opportunities within this offense, it's all a matter of well he and the others use them. As I said before, it's more so the Big Three hiding behind our shooters too much so far than anything else, but even that can change as evidenced by tonight.

This is an overreaction to a few games of the regular season, without even taking our new offensive approach into consideration. If you're gonna start a thread like this, at least wait around 20 games to not make your overreaction too obvious.

Should Miami Heat try Chris Bosh as the second option?
