Should Chris Bosh Start In The All-Star Game?

He's currently the Heat's second best player and he's playing at an insanely efficient level right now. Right now he's Top 10 in scoring in the NBA, and Top 5 at getting to the free-throw line.

To me it's a no brainer that he starts (along with LeBron & Melo), and also because Bynum is gonna be out until December 10.

What do you think?...

Agreed. Bosh is proving to be our best 2nd option and is very efficient with his shooting percentage. As Wade continues to decline, Bosh will be a key factor in ensuring that Lebron sticks around in Miami when he needs to decide if he is going to opt-out.

Bosh hasnt changed. This is the Bosh Toronto drafted, this is the Bosh that was an Allstar. We changed his role when he came to the Heat. Now we are clearing the paint letting him work closer and giving him the ball in better situations. I appreciate that Bosh took a back seat and was patient and I'm glad he is showing he still has it. Bosh Wade and Lebron are each capable of 30 every night and carrying a team. imo he is an All-Star starter and always has been.

Bosh is a tough Legit 5 !
yes he can't guard all the centers , but no-one , i mean no-one can guard him !
he's out-speeding every single center he has faced so far
and he's so damn clutch , every time heat went to him late in the game in the past 2-3 years he made big shots
against chicago in ECS,against Dallas in game 2 of finals , against Hawks in regular season last year , against Hornest in 2010 regular season and .... !

HE IS GOOD !

Bosh deserves to start. He has been underrated his entire career, and he basically started in a few allstar games because of injuries to KG.

He will never be voted in by fans because 1) He doesn't listen to hiphop in the locker room 2) Is intelligent and has style 3) People don't like the way he runs

If that's your reasoning behind him not starting then how do you explain Tim Duncan (minus the running)?

I think he will get voted in. He has been amazing this year. Even if bynum was healthy bynum isn't this good. The new all star voting rules help Chris a lot

Well I don't agree. Prime Duncan in today's league would undoubtedly be a starter.

Bosh was tearing it up when we had that stretch without Wade before the ASG iirc. Amar'e, I think (or was it Chandler ?) still got the starting spot over him.

Bosh's game, no matter how good it is, will always be disrespected. He still has that "soft" label, despite being a top 3 PF and C in the league. His improvements get ignored by the general public (they still think he is a terribad defender). Hell, he even gets disrespected in 2K.

Bosh really deserves the ASG starting spot, but he will not get it.

That sounds a lot like this year. You're using his current statistics of seven games to prove your point and claim Bynum is gonna be out until December 10th (actually until January, he's only gonna start basketball related activity in December) to show there isn't really anybody else out there yet. Well, we won't know if Bosh will keep this production up. We won't know how well Roy Hibbert or Tyson Chandler or even freaking Brook Lopez will play. I'm not saying they'll be better or deserve it more, but a lot can happen. 7 out of 82 games is nothing. If we were 20 games in, we could maybe start to talk, but even then it's not accurate enough. I get that you're trying to say "Well, he's performing at a great level again and doesn't get noticed", but again, it's just seven games.

With all that being said, fans vote the players in, so don't expect a Heater to get in there over let's say a Knicks player because he deserves it. Most fans hate us and they vote, so I won't expect much.

Also consider Bosh is a very down to earth person who doesn't care what others think about him. He goofs all the time and makes weird jokes. People prefer someone a little bit more " Gangsta "

It'll make him work harder and prove people wrong if he doesn't, so it's a win-win. The coaches will vote him in either way.

The thing about Bosh is he truly could careless about starting in the allstar game, personal achievements, personal accolades, media praise etc. He is 150% about winning. Which is rare these days and I respect that so much.

Bosh could EASILY get a max contract and become a number 1 option on a small market team and become a top power forward statistically if he wanted to. But he doesn't. People look at the way he runs and moves/ dresses etc and judge him rather then the great basketball player he is which is a shame.
