I am very confused as to why Kenyon martin is still a free agent. He played a ton of quality minutes for the Clippers last post season and would upgrade the heat roster tremendously. As for West I like him but I don't think we need him. Riley should sign Martin asap.

Martin reportedly had problems with Del Negro last year. It looks like both these guys are blacklisted because there have been much worse players already snapped up by teams. I'd be on board with picking up Kenyon but Delonte? I don't know about that.
There's the whole Delonte/LeBron thing which may or may not be true and the whole Zo/Kenyon feud from a while back.

Nope.
Pat Riley's will not sign Head cases to a roster thats proven to work already.
Not worth the Gamble.
I wouldnt mind any trade (not involving big 3, rio, allen, haslem) that gets Dalembert in a Heat uni.

At this point i would take every help I could get at the PF/C position

Umm Delonte West? Really? With all the rumors about him and Lebron's mom. Even if they weren't true it would be a horrible idea.

there is no lebron and delonte thing. that's a nasty internet rumour that has never been attributed to any publication or any source. i thought the way delonte and lebron embraced and talked after miami defeated boston in 2011 would have squashed that but guess not.
miami is also starting to buy into his own hype as an organization with solid citizens. we passed on blatche for keeping pittman and adding harrelson, that was a mistake. now we're keepin haslem in the rotation past his expiry date à la derek fisher in LA, and it will be a mistake too.
assuming we keep the same starting 5, our bench should be cole, allen, miller and kenyon. with west challenging cole.

I don't believe it ever happened but a lot of people do + delonte is a head case imo. Not worth it.

Look the east have gotten a little better this season, and my opinion the heat have players that have regress. Point guard play have been piss poor, and really Miami only shooting guard is r Allen because wade can't shoot. West would be upgrade and vets such as haslem can keep him in check, as well as battier. Point guard goes off on Miami because they don't have to play defense on the other end, west can help with that. If heat can't get no solid big man I think he can really help with slowing down point guards, so the heat don't have a steady diet of other point guard breaking down the defense.

I'd take Kmart, but would Spo even play him?
I like Delonte as a backup PG. He has size, can defend, and is hella talented for a guy living off veteran minimums the past couple of years. Would love him on this team.

The same "he's a headcase" excuse was brought up by people that didnt want Blatch here. now look at him. he could have been our seconed best big man, it's not even close.
Ill take Delonte all day for the Vet Min. if he starts acting up, just cut him. he's only 29 years old, and if Riley can get his head in the right place, im not sure he's not a better player then Mario and Cole.
Vet Min all day.
Martin could be an upgraded Joel, i wouldn't mind geting him but it's not a real long term soulation.

I hear you Rex,
But tell me why Pat Riley would mess with the Chemistry on a Championship team, by adding players who have a bad or questionable track record. So questionable that these players cant even find work on bottom feeders in the league? Pat obviously knows something you dont.
I learned a looooooong time ago.... trust in Riley bro.

Neither would crack our rotation. Both are headcases.

Delonte is literally mentally insane. Not worth the trouble.
KneeMart would just be another undersized PF with a limited offensive repertoire.
As for Dalembert, let it go. He's a lazy bum. He's not a bad player, but he doesn't have the heart. He does bring it occasionally, but not enough, and clearly he wasn't interested in winning, or he'd have gone to a contender this summer.

Nah bro, Dalembert would be pretty ince in a Heat uni.

I'm from NJ and had season tickets during the Kidd/K-Mart years...K-Mart is NOT a headcase or bad locker room guy. He was his first few seasons when he was getting into fights every other game, but he's calmed down a lot the last 7-8 seasons. He's still prone to the occasional unnecessary foul, but he's a good teammate who will fight for you, and on the court he's a solid offensive player (better finisher, jumpshooter and passer than current Haslem), a VERY tough defender and good rebounder. For the minimum he'd be a great pickup.
Delonte is a headcase, but every team he's on tends to love what he brings. He's a much better defender than Chalmers, and a much better offensive player than Cole. He's another guy who brings tough, physical play, which this team could use.
Honestly, I'd pull the trigger on both. Worst case scenario you cut him and swallow the minimum contract, but the best case scenario is you get a significant upgrades off the bench who bring the kind of defense and toughness that unit really needs.
