I think the reason Ray will play while Lewis will not despite both of them being weak defenders is simple - Ray is an excellent offensive player while Lewis is just a decent one. Also, a bad defender playing the guard position next to LBJ and Wade is not as bad as a weak defender playing as a big next to Bosh. if we had Omer Asik, Lewis's weaknesses (defense, paint protection, rebounds) wouldn't hurt us as bad.
