B-easy could have been really nice backing bosh lebron at the forwards or playing with them. think he could have thrived in that environment.
beasley was not dumped FOR miller. beasley was just dumped, and the resulting cap space went to miller. it sounds like semantics but the nuance is actually important: riley wanted no part of beasley in his new vision and the big 3.
riley wanted people around the big 3 that were selfless, understood team rotations and defense, had a high bbiq and were not focussed on their personal stats. that's not beasley.

He was a #2 pick, so I really didn't understand why we couldn't pull a first rounder out of that deal with the T'Wolves.

Because everyone knew the Heat were desperate, either way both these guys suck but at least Miller was able to contribute in the last game of the finals.

So far Beasley hasn't done much to make that trade look bad so far. Wolves let him go for nothing.

This.
Beas was a bust. We got good value for him, given that he's about to land in China or Europe. PEACE.

We were smart enough to cut our loses. sometimes you need to just to that.
But one can imagine how we would have looked if we picked Kevin Love instead..
PG
Wade
LBJ
Love
Bosh
Now that's a 72 wins team...

I really wanted Mayo at the time, but I don't think anyone expected Beasley's career to spiral like that.

Beasley's been hot garbage.
When MM is healthy, he's been solid.

To think he was suppose to be what Durant is now but better.
I actually wanted Beasley over Rose.

Beasley was a BEAST in college, he was unstoppable.

Don't about better because Durant is averaging some crazy efficiency right now but everyone was expecting Beasley to be at least a 20 and 10 decent efficiency big coming out of college and evolve into a 25-28ppg scorer ala Melo. I believe his comparison was a Melo/Boozer hybrid in fact.
Waste of talent, dude likes to shoot stupid contested jumpers but when he actually decides to drive he's able to finish with either hand/draw contact. Just a dumb player.

I remember getting into arguments pre draft that I was insulting him by saying I saw too much Jamison in him. 4 years later, I was actually overrating him. Crazy

im not even kidding when i say this. beasley would be a good fit on this team.
the guy has game but what is severely hampering his skills is the fact that the guy has made some mistakes in the past and no one has given him a second chance. think about it, beas mustve been so excited hearing about lebron and bosh coming over only to be told that after 2 seasons the heat were gonna toss him to the side.
he then goes to Minnesota where he started off the season on fire and ironically gets injured playing the heat. ever since then beasley has gone down hill. whether it be coaches playing him out of position or being benched for nothing, the guys confidence and ability has been decomposing since he got traded to minny.
i wonder if pat riley would ever consider giving beas another shot.

It was the 4th game of the season for him and he wasn't really on fire in those 3 previous games. He missed only 1 game after that injury, had a 42-point game 5 games after the Heat game and averaged ~23/6 on 47.8% for the next 2 months. So he actually had probably the best 2-months of his career after that game...

I never liked Beasley and never wanted us to pick him. Since I liked Mayo a lot, I wanted us to try and trade down and maybe pick up another asset along the way. The part that pissed me off the most about Beasley was his mental weakness. The guy had/has the tools to be a player in the league but is soft and has no work ethic.
Regarding the trade, receiving a first round pick was never a realistic option given the position we were in and the incidents Beasley has had. He had substance abuse issues, had never shown he could reach the level he was projected to come to and we needed to move him to add depth to our roster. No team would take him on and help us along the way while giving up any meaningful assets such as a 1st round pick.

yeah thats what i meant, beasley had a real good start to the season. i just threw in the part about the heat game because i remember him torching us early and then he took a hard fall or something like that

The thing that gets me about Beasley is how badly his rebounding fell off. Rebounding usually translates and it seems like he just stopped trying in that respect. I've pretty much given up on him as a viable NBA player, he has skills, but his mind just isn't cut out for professional basketball. I thought he'd turn it around in Phoenix this year but that obviously hasn't been the case. I think this might be the end for him.

He's 6'7, very few midgets can rebound at that size in the NBA. You should have seen that coming.

He's 6'9(at least), the same size as Love. Not to mention the fact that his rebounding has steadily gone from slightly above average to way below.

Beasley is the living proof of how important BBIQ is.
