“If we think we’re going to win a playoff series in the first round, second round, third round, we’re kidding ourselves,” Bosh said. “We are not good enough to be where we want to be. We’re lucky to be first in the East. We’re kidding ourselves if we think this is good enough.”
“We don’t play the same way,” he said. In 2010-11, “we were a halfcourt team that pounded you on the glass and executed the offense, and if LeBron and Dwyane had opportunities in the open court after we get a stop, they will push it down your throat.
“We’re not the same team. We don’t play the same style. That style was working for us pretty good. If you look at our weaknesses right now, it’s defense and rebounding.”
Of the change in style affecting the Heat’s rebounding, Bosh said, “I don’t think it’s a coincidence.”
Does it mean the Heat needs to play two natural bigs together more? “Maybe,” he said. “We played more conventional basketball the first year and last year. This is different.
“We get placed in a system and we try to play to the system to the best of our abilities. Some days, it’s good. Some days, it’s bad. Most days it has been bad for us on the boards. I don’t think it’s about effort. We’re trying our best.
“Even in Toronto, I don’t remember being outrebounded on the boards constantly. Being outrebounded by 20! Soon, I’m going to need two hands to count the times. It’s a constant problem. It’s happening over and over and over. This is unacceptable.”

maybe went overbaord about losing team, but Rio has not been happy about not get to close out games, and he said it kinda affecting his play so much he went to Spo office. Also the big 3 are repeated saying they are busting their tails out that, and is not about effort.

I had this elongated response typed out, but **** it. It's not always effort though. Sometimes, you're just too damn overmatched to get the boards. Unfortunately, Spoelstra is stubborn beyond belief. So expect this same lesson to be taught several times over.

Good on Bosh for calling it as he sees it.

2011: Lebron/Wade/Bosh relentless attacking, hardly any 3 pointers between them. Shown in the finals when they couldn't buy a jump-shot aside for Battier but kept attacking no matter what.
2012: Complete 180
The jump-shooting could also relate to why they have trouble coming back from Double Digit leads and give the opposing team more fast-break opportunities.
I would actually like to see a stat on the Heats W/L record win down by double digits cause i could be completely wrong.

What is spo supposed to do? Hes already starting haslem and Joel is back in the rotation. We have no other bigs on the roster. The guys we have need to do their jobs. 3pt shooters need to make 3s. Bigs need to rebound. And that's that.
Maybe we should trade bosh for zbo? That'd solve the problem right there.

Dude, no. Bosh had 5 rebounds. This is the same team that we outrebounded in the playoffs without Bosh!!!. You mean to tell me that Bosh busting his ass can only get 5 rebounds? About 1 rebound per quarter? Give me a break. I don't blame it all on Bosh, but this is the same system that was basically used in the playoffs to get us to the championship. All that talk about going for a system with two-bigs, who was our previous big before?! Joel Anthony?? That was the difference between why we were a good rebounding team before and now rebound like a$$? Not buying this.
And maybe if our bench wasn't shooting 2-200 we'd still be able to win some games.

I think bosh miss JA helping him out in the pick n roll. Maybe wrong, but when Joel was in the starting line up heat sometimes was going possession without scoring, but wasn't the other team having a hard time trying score also?

That's it.. Speak up Bosh.. LeBron should also do the same..
We are deadly in the open court.. the most devastating duo there.. LeBron and Wade.. and we've hardly had any fastbreaks..

This! I see that many Miami Heat fans are in love with Bosh and they blame Haslem,Chalmers even Wade and LBJ but no one here says anything about Bosh soft ass!
Bosh is becoming a one-dimensional player! the only thing that Bosh does in the court is shooting jumpers after jumpera! he doesn't attack the hoop anymore, he doesnt post up anymore, he doesn't rebound the ball and he has only 7.6 reb/game and most of them are easy rebounds!
Sorry for my English

Yeah, you keep telling yourself that, while we're getting outrebounded by 20 every game.
Obviously, this isn't the playoffs where you play every other day. It's a 82 game regular season... Players are banged-up and tired and they don't want to bust their asses every game, just to stay close in the rebounding column. You've got LeBron playing 42 minutes game in and game out. Carrying everything there is to carry on this team. He's not 23 years old anymore. He's coming of a year he had little to no rest. He's got ton of mileage on his legs, the last thing he wants to do is everything. He is asked to compete regularly with the likes of David West and Taj Gibson who are just grabbing the rebounds over the top of his head at this point...
You, pimpwerx and people like that are delusional. Thinking Spo's got everything under control. He never has. It was always how far LeBron carries this team. Yes, sometimes Wade or/and Bosh step up. But if LeBron has anything less than 30/10/7 for this team, then we're in big trouble. Good thing the guys is a tank too, Don't wanna jynx it but, if he was sidelined just for a couple of games in the playoffs it's immediate game over for the Heat.
Don't take LeBron for granted, Cleveland did that. That's all I'm saying...

Good to hear Bosh speaking the truth, not suprised the players are getting tired of Spo's ****. Saw this coming a mile away...Spo is clowning himself at this point. outrebounded by 20+ for how many games now? ridiculous.

I will say once again that the only reason small ball worked so well in the playoffs last year is because we didn't play anyone that could really punish us on the boards. The only team that came close to that was Indiana but it took superstar efforts from Wade and LeBron to win that series.
Teams have learned from our championship run and have adapted... Everyone knows how to beat this team now and it isn't a secret. Just out-rebound and pound us on the inside. Now that everyone has made adjustments to our team we have yet to adjust back thanks to Spo's stubbornness. Small ball just isn't cut out for an 82 game regular season. More specifically Bosh isn't cut out to play center well consistently throughout the season. It should be used sparingly as our ace in the hole. We need to only use it against teams that can't punish us on the glass (like Boston and OKC).
We need to go back to playing defense like we did in '10-'11. Start Joel (maybe Andersen if he works out well enough for us), move Bosh to the 4, go back to focusing primarily on defense instead of this "pace and space offense" crap, focus on gang-rebounding instead of constantly trying to get out on the fast break, start calling players out that aren't pulling their weight (Mario I'm looking at you), and most of all just go back to playing basketball like we still have something to prove ffs. Last two seasons whenever this team got slapped in the mouth we took it personal thanks to the criticism. Now we lose and its like "meh we're defending champs we'll be alright."
Getting tired of this crap.

It baffles me on how Spo would use small ball for the entire season. I thought or the SMART thing to do was to use a conventional lineup through the season and then utilize small ball during the playoffs. Battier has said it and I would think it'd be common sense that playing "small" will cause strain and fatigue on players through an 82 game season and most especially LeBron who is basically the biggest on this team/ rotation.
EVERY team knows how to beat the Heat, it's literally no secret. Before it was "ok, well we need our 3pt shooters to be on top of our game and good ball movement and don't commit many tos" easier said and done for a lot of teams as most teams don't have crisp ball movement and 3pt shooting that the Mavs had. Now it's basically "if you out-rebound the Heat by 15+ and bully them in the paint you have a great chance to win and also chucking 3s by your best 3pt shooters". Thing is most teams DO have bigs who can punish the Heat on the boards so it's no surprise why they continue to get punished and bullied in the paint.

Bosh brings up some good points. You can tell that he's not the only player that has similar thoughts.
We tinkered too much. You make a change to take advantage of a mismatch. That doesn't mean you need to keep the change forever.

For those who think spo would treat bird man like tauif , IMO I think he can't afford to do that now. Not without big three pushing back. Bron done got taste of finally winning and he knows all to well what inadequate coach cost him in Ceveland, I don't think he put up with that again. Look at Jj hickson and what he doing in Portland, I know bron paying attention.
