Intersting Trade Idea, Bosh to Rockets and heat get Big

I personally like Bosh alot and think he just needs to play next to a big Center, but this trade idea a Rockets fan came up with does lookpretty interesting on paper.
I dont think there's a chance we actually do it, but do you think it would
hypothetically make us more balanced and overall a better team?

Rebounding has been one of the issues for Miami so I would go with:
Jeremy Lin, Patrick Patterson and Omer Asik
for
Chris Bosh
Both Lin and Asik are excellent rebounders for thier position and Patterson is a solid defensive stretch four who is well suited to play off Wade/Lebron.
Miami:
Lin / Cole
Wade / Allen
Lebron / Battier
Patterson / Haslem
Asik / Anthony
Houston:
Douglas / Beverly
Harden / Delfino
Parsons / Morris
Bosh / Motiejounas
Smith / Aldrich

On paper looks like good value, but I'd pass. The beauty of Bosh's soft behind is that he's proven himself in the postseason as a reliable 3rd man. In an important game, if Wade or LeBron is off, can you really expect Lin, Patterson, or Asik to step up and deliver, the way a Chris Bosh did in game 4 of the semi finals against Boston 2 years ago?
We need to find some way to get a real big next to Bosh, I wouldn't even think of trading him unless this team falters in the playoffs. Asik would be good for defending and rebounding purposes but gives you nothing on offense. Patterson only averages 5 boards while getting 10 or 11 points. If its a risk of overall balance vs. a proven commodity I would go with the proven commodity. I dont think a deal like this would make us a better team.

You guys need to understand. No matter what kind of talent you bring to the team, their games will CHANGE. Just like Bosh's. Even if you bring in Harden, he will become a 16/4/4 player like he was with OKC.
Heat love Bosh because he can operate anywhere from 10-20 ft. The system is designed for small ball, and by bringing in a big man who can't shoot, will only destroy the system.
And You guys just won the championship. Heat nearly lost every series because Bosh went down. As soon as Bosh came back, the Heat became a different team( better team ).

Lin is not a good fit on this team. He's too ball dominant... Not the type of PG you want next to LBJ and Wade.
Asik and Patterson would be good fits but they can't be relied upon offensively like Bosh.
We'd become better defensively and much worse offensively.

http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=cca6okv + the Philly pick would be my preferred trade if we had to do it.
We're not trading Bosh though and nor should we, so the point is moot.

I agree, but to play devil's advocate - Asik is averaging 12.5 points on 54% Per36 Minutes this year. he's becoming at least somewhat decent on offense, and he's already a great defender and rebounder.

good point - but i think the idea is that Patterson can become a poor's man (or homeless) Bosh, hitting mid range shots that other will create for him. Asik i think could fit here, he's just a big guy that plays hards, rebounds, get easy buckets..doesn't the the ball and doesn't have an ego.
Lin - that's where the problem might be. not sure how well he could fit here, although i do think he's a better talent then our PG's.

Lin would be a disaster, because I doubt he can accept the Jason Kidd role, as well as even play that role. At this point, I would keep Chalmers as the starting PG, because the team chemistry is good after coming off a championship year. Just my $0.02

That's an intersting idea too.
Mo is a better fit then Lin, But Asik is a better fit then Al.
Maybe we could do the Rockets trade, then flip Lin for Mo in a seprate trade?
Realistically, We just need to sigh a Center. If we had one this board will be alot calmer

Make it a 3 team where Houston gets bosh and we get asik and zbo. Memphis could get Patterson and parsons and the Philly pick.
Zbo is bosh plus nasty. Asik fits here because he defends the pick and roll.

Zbo and Asik dont fit togther, and Bosh isn't worth both of them togther anyway.

Makes Zero sense. We get 2 Centers, we're left with no decent PF's, and Parsons is buried behind LBJ on the bench.

I'm still in awe, how some of you are willing to trade Bosh.
I might get flamed for this. I would rather trade a declining Wade before I consider trading Bosh. Remember how he plays when Wade is out. Bron/Bosh duo is perfect. Surround them with good role players and you get yourself a very nice team.

I like it.
^ and trading wade is just not happening, even if it might make more sense than trading bosh. Loyalty can be both a great thing and a bad thing. But wade is my favorite player so i really dont want to see him go anywhere. He better restructure that contract in 2014 tho. he should be making 10mil per year, not 20.
^^Lebron at PF is a good thing.
