Heat sign Chris Andersen to 10 day contract

Miami has signed Jarvis Varnado and Chris Andersen to 10-day contracts, according to team. Andersen has been in Miami working out.

Has Jorts been dropped then? I assume that's who's spot Birdman took.

Anyway, I'm interested to see what he brings to the table. He'll have a chance to get in some practices, so maybe he'll be able to get some minutes in the next game. Hopefully he can pickup the defense quickly. PEACE.

yep. he pretty much has this 10 day contract and another 10 day contract to make this team. should be interesting.

Birdman had a PER of 19 last year. If he resembles anything close to the level he was last year, then this is a very quality addition.

Hopefully this will spice up the mid-season monotony some. Not sure what to expect at all.

Very good move, was expecting this ever since we heard he came down to Miami.

If he can play at the level he played the last 2 years before his surgery - he'll be a greadt addition. Itmight take him some time, he didnt play in the NBa for almost a year i think.

Nice reward, no risk type of move.

BTW we also kept Varnado around for an extra 10 days, so he might be showing something in practice.

Never been a fan of his, but I trust Riley on this one. Although I really doubt the guy sees any playing time, but I hope thats not the case. Hopefully they move JJ to the role of suit wearing on the bench still dont get why that guy dresses.

What's not to like? he used to be a great shotblocker and a very good rebounder that plays hard with a lot of energy, and can score a little too. every team needs that kind of a bigman, especially us.

Hope he has something left in the tank. What he's shown as recently as last year could be a big help.

I absolutely love the addition...and I really think he can be a factor...more than turiaf or dampier because he has proven before he can be valuable to a team...

He wasn't connected. He wasn't proven guilty/arrested or anything. Turns out he was being black mailed by some woman who tried to extort him.
