Heat and Cavs favorites for Oden?

The Cavs and Heat have "emerged" as the favorites to sign Greg Oden, sources told CBS Sports.
The Heat are believed to be offering a minimum salary, while the Cavs could offer up to $4 million, which seems like an excessive amount. The Celtics are another team that has "expressed interest," but Oden is not believed to be interested in going to Boston.
Can this be real and not more speculative bs?

And if we do get him, i want himto start working out way before he comes here. dont want us to get all invested in him, wait for a year for him to get in shape..and they watch him get injured again.
He can either be healthy and help, Or he cant. dont drag this to another 2-3 year project.

If this is true, and the Cavs are willing to spend more than the vet min, feel like Oden's choice would be determined by how wisely he's spent his money up til this point. Obviously playing on a championship contending team that has a gaping hole at Center would be a far greater opportunity for personal redemption. But if he needs a few million to potentially set him up for life if he were to come down with one more catastrophic injury, I wouldn't blame him.

A separate source says Oden is hoping to meet with Pat Riley within the next 2 weeks in Miami

Obviously I want him to come to Miami, but I seriously hope he doesn´t for his sake. Considering his troubles with alcohol and injuries dude should try to cash in (Save up for the future), at a nice quiet place like Phoenix or Cleveland.

I'm all for it. Not like the 15th guy ever does anything, who is the 15th guy at the moment? Vanardo?
Anyways, OT but any news on extending a contract to Anderson yet?

2013-2014 Starting roster
PG- Collison (via trade)
SG- Wade
SF- James
PF- Bosh
C- Oden (50% of his potential)
....let that sink in a little.

It'd be dumb to not look into it. He's a better project than Pittman. And plus, he's proven that when he's on the court, he's a defensive force rebounding and blocking shots. Hopefully, we can get him healthy and in a role where he can play 15-20 minutes at least.

If you mean Darren Collison, then yikes. He's not very good, and even worse when he doesn't have the ball. As inconsistent as Chalmers is, he's still a better fit.

You have to feel like he'd grab the money at this point. I really hope we get him since he's a much more worthwhile project than Pittman, but I don't feel good about our chances.

LeBron should fax him Dan Gilbert's "Comic Sans" letter. Not email... fax.

His alcohol abuse was more a result of depression due to his injuries more than just a pure addiction, so if he can slowly rehab in Miami, I think it's not gonna be an issue. If he gets hurt again, his career is most likely over anyways, so it doesn't make a difference whether he is in Miami or in Cleveland. If there's one team where I believe he could become a solid NBA player again, it's with us. We have great team chemistry, leadership, a great owner and a legend as a president of basketball operations. We have the type of characters he needs around him at this point in his career and I think that could draw him down to Miami.

Miami is the most logical basketball location for Oden. No other competitive team has such a strong defence first mindset, a gaping hole at the 5 & enough talent in the rest of the roster that he would not be asked to be a major contributor. There would the least amount of pressure from the organisation/teammates and the greatest chance for him to work his way back into shape, health and form.
The worst part will be at the end of next season when he leaves us for someone willing to give him more than the MLE. If we get him under contract this year, then he will at least be an early bird for us after 2013/14. To me, that's a big incentive to sign him this year!
